Here is the first build for testing. Simply double-click it on Windows, java -jar alonegame.jar on Linux, and whatever you OSX folk do, do what you do.

Phares, WIP 003

I overcame most of my technical hurdles, and now I have a pretty tech demo :-D

I’m using SoundManager 2 to check if you have flash. If you do, the game will not bother to try to use HTML5 Audio. If I had the time, I would just integrate it right into my game engine :-p

Fleedom – Fleet Pattern and Movement test

Current build playable here in your browser

Working title is Fleedom. Wanted to handle what I felt would be one of the most challenging parts of my game design which was making a fleet of small ships that you could toggle through various flight patterns while moving.

Got a decent enough working version now.  Z/X toggles next/previous fleet pattern.  Arrow keys move.

Here is the background on my current game’s design

MinMo screen shot and win32 test file

Finally got a screen shot here along with a link if anyone on win32 wants to try my character test and let me know if my exe doesn’t work. Basically got my character tiles from last night all coded in and initially timed between states.

The current player character MinMo has two states. A ‘Min’ state where he is a little thin snake and a gelatinous block ‘Mo’ state where he can’t move but will probably be invincible. You are frozen as ‘Mo’ currently until the time is up where you then transform back to ‘Min’.

You use arrows to move left and right, space to transform, and ESC quits. Now for more game elements!

win32 exe available here
