Final release is almost here ! Try it out for yourself! Let me know what you think!!!
I’ve never been that lazy to rate LD entries. On previous LDs I always rated more than 200 games, but strangely, this rating fever has cooled down, and now, I prefer to spend more time on each game and try to give more constructive feedbacks. Maybe it’s for the best.
Anyway, here are my favorites so far, the ones I already reviewed in french on my blog http://oujevipo.fr. This list doesn’t include all of my favorites, some of them (especially Jam entries) being too obvisouly great for needing a little push up. (Sorry for my bad english by the way, I’m not even sure “push up” DOES mean something).
This list doesn’t really care if the game is compo or jam, neither if it fits well the theme but I added this :
: Excellent use of the theme
: Good use of the theme
: bad/no use of the theme

Since the game is essentially done, I’m releasing it for testing. You can find the test build here: http://nova-fusion.com/games/rock-n-slash/game.swf. Please test it out, and provide any feedback or suggestions you have.
In the meantime, I’m going to be experimenting with adding new stuff to the game.
A couple hours later, and some palette testing, and I have created my 8 biomes. For debugging purposes, they are selectable using the arrow keys (I test everything constantly when developing!)
Here’s a link to the current build, because I am hungry for feedback: http://feyleaf.com/downloads/ld23-test3.zip
don’t forget to play the final version here : http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-22/?action=preview&uid=825
Here is the first build for testing. Simply double-click it on Windows, java -jar alonegame.jar on Linux, and whatever you OSX folk do, do what you do.
I overcame most of my technical hurdles, and now I have a pretty tech demo
I’m using SoundManager 2 to check if you have flash. If you do, the game will not bother to try to use HTML5 Audio. If I had the time, I would just integrate it right into my game engine :-p
Current build playable here in your browser
Working title is Fleedom. Wanted to handle what I felt would be one of the most challenging parts of my game design which was making a fleet of small ships that you could toggle through various flight patterns while moving.
Got a decent enough working version now. Z/X toggles next/previous fleet pattern. Arrow keys move.
Finally got a screen shot here along with a link if anyone on win32 wants to try my character test and let me know if my exe doesn’t work. Basically got my character tiles from last night all coded in and initially timed between states.
The current player character MinMo has two states. A ‘Min’ state where he is a little thin snake and a gelatinous block ‘Mo’ state where he can’t move but will probably be invincible. You are frozen as ‘Mo’ currently until the time is up where you then transform back to ‘Min’.
You use arrows to move left and right, space to transform, and ESC quits. Now for more game elements!
