Harder than it seems!!!
So for this my first Ludum Dare compo, 16 hour and a half hours or so left and very little in the way of progress. Yeah I definitely won’t be finished without some miracle code. And a substantial jolt of energy.
I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was, that’s for sure. Not giving up yet and hopefully will have something to show for my time spent. I was able at the very least, to come up with a game idea, work out tons of design notes for a promising framework which I will definitely improve upon before the next compo and have it released and ready to go.
But there is still time for me to at get something done, so wish me luck.
G’Night all see you in 4 hours hopefully.
End of Day 1
Saturday, August 21st, 2010 3:36 pmI think I’ve been neglecting my screenshot duties, so here you go:
This pretty much sums up the extent of my game at the end of day 1. There are some enemies, you shoot at you. You can shoot at them and collect their broken hull.
I had really hoped to be a lot further along, but that’s always the way it goes. Tomorrow I’ll get the whole enemies-as-weapons thing in there, player damage, enemy patterns, etc etc. Right now it’s time to do some serious sleeping.
Good night!
Final Entry – Tower
So this is ‘Tower’ since I didn’t bother to come up with a better name. (I did all my naming duty with Fiona’s Purple Reign.)
The object, of course, is to defend your tower from the onslaught of baddies. Unfortunately, there is only one type of monster, but each wave has it’s own speed and interval. Use the arrows to move the guy up and down the tower, or left and right across the top. A/D change the angle and W/S changes the power of your arrows.
I’ll probably write a post-mortum later, but you can download Tower.
