To try, or not to try…

I made this account so me and my friend(s) could maybe compete in next years Ludum Dare Jam, and I just read that there is a mini LD on the 17th. All I know how to do is make crappy games with Multimedia Fusion 2, I was planning on learning more/switching to Python+PyGame by the time of LD next year.

So should we try to make a game for the Mini LD?

I made a lot of progress today! I’ll hopefully have a demo up tomorrow once I add some more game play.

Until then… Here’s a screenshot!

Just got back from vacation and I am getting right to work on making my entry. I’m thinking of making a pacifistic strategy game…

I’ll be using:

-Game Maker (again)

- A hip new drawing program I found called Paint.NET

Hello everyone. Im 99 percent sure that I’ll be participating in this MiniLD. I just hope that the theme is easy to do in Game Maker…

Participating in Humanity

Hello folks, I will be participating in this MiniLD! But since making dialogue in Game Maker is kind of tough, I’ll probably just have a story in my game, The Struggle for Humanity. In this game that I’m working on with qwezc, you are of an ancient alien race that has to introduce new technology and ideas to the early humans. I’ve never really done something like this before, so I’m excited to see how this turns out!

Here’s an early screenshot:

This is what I managed to do last night. Its amazing what mistakes a sleep deprived brain can make. I had a lot of issues baking AO maps because I had one silly button selected the whole time, which was the first thing I saw when I woke up this morning. Oh well.

But here is Discovery so far:

Far from finished.

-I dont like the ET texture much atm,

-The shuttle doesnt have markings yet, only an AO map

-I dont have much time to work on it anymore

-Need to get into some python to making it fly and get some environments done today! (But I have so many other things to do today as well… Gonna be a late night)

-ADEdge

Finally Got Some Time!

LD always seems to be coinciding with something, but I’ve managed to clear two days for it (might sleep instead).

So unless my daughter decides to create havoc I’ll be playing with you guys.

Gosu + Cpp = Joy, and a with some luck a game as well.

This is (was) my entry to LD #08 48hr challange. I wanted to post it earlier but constraints of time and space delayed it. I wanted to update it a bit but I am posting it ‘as is’ back then. It was done during the contest.
I am glad that I took part in this contest and very glad to the experience I achieved thru it. I also liked it a lot to interact with all the contestants during the actual time and how things worked out. There was no intention to score but the only task was to be able to complete it in that duration which I did. Since it was one of my firsts I simply could not stand the stress after the compo though! I had a lot of headache’s hehe. But since then I became more strong physically. Later I did a lot of such “night stands” dusk to dawn to noon for other tasks in life.

FREE IDEAS

Stuck with no ideas to roll with? Not enough whiteboard in your life? Uncle Brian wants YOU (points finger through your screen at your face) to make the games he wants to play. Or see played. Or read about in the news. In a bad way.

Don’t blame me for that one, blame the person at Walgreens who sold me the red expo marker.

If you’re still stuck, you’re kind of screwed. You might as well give up. But if you really, really need more inspiration:
