Last LD I had very little time because of different stuff getting in the way. I didn’t go farther than generating an idea. Hopefully this time I’ll be able to finish my entry.
Since I’ve never actually finished a game during Ludum Dare, this can be considered my first LD compo! Yay
I’ll be using:
- Haxe, the cross-platform toolkit http://haxe.org
- Haxeflixel (awesome Haxe framework, a port of AS3 Flixel) http://haxeflixel.com
- Lionlib-HAXE – it’s my library for Haxeflixel with different utils. I even started writing wiki on it https://github.com/lion123dev/Lionlib-HAXE/wiki
My Software is pretty standart:
HaxeDevelopFlashDevelop for haxe developing
- GIMP for image manipulating
- AS3SFXR for sound fx generating
- Git Extensions for extending Git
- DAME for tilemap creating (combo breaker?)
My plans for this time are very humble: just post something. Yep. Don’t want to spend a lot of time trying to create a masterpiece. My goal is to learn what part of the process will be most time consuming (even though i already know it’s art and sounds/music).
Thanks for the #LD30 contest
And also to everyone reading this entry. I hope I made you smile while reading this

Hi everyone! I’m glad to say that I’m constantly visiting the web over and over, and I’m trying to play all of the games that I think that are good of the last LD.
I’ve met with Ludum Dare at the page of Evoland (a game of LD24) at Shio Games. I really liked the game at that moment and in the info said something about the site, and when I got in the first time, there was 1 week ’till this LD started!
I’m living in Argentina, and I talk Spanish here, so sorry if I mistake some letters
I’m 14 years old, and I currently know nothing of programming, but I’m looking forward to learn something and make some useful program/game/whatever in any language. I was interested since last year (I think) and I wanted to learn BASIC first, but as long as I get some progress I’ll be happy about it.
If anyone is can/wants to teach me something, I’ll be glad.
See ya everyone!
Islands sounds like a good theme and I’ve already got a fairly good idea for a game which I might just be able to pull off in the next 48 hours.
So for this entry I will be using:
* Pycatcher (If I can get it working)
* Graphics gale
* Rosegarden / Cakewalk
One of my main goals this time round is to get some music in there, so I’m going to have to round off my gameplay and graphics with plenty of time to spare for that, I think.
Anyway, good luck everybody!
Hello! For windows and linux, plus source of course. I scrapped my original game and made this instead.
Morning all from sunny Huddersfield. It is actually sunny here for a change but sadly I can only see a tiny bit of the outside world from my prison for the next 48 hours, I mean delightfull cellar workspace.
It’s my first Ludum Dare and my first game competition so I’m not sure how I will get on but I’ll give it a go. The theme seems a bit limited to me but that is probably my just limited saturday morning brain. Anyway I just wanted to say hello and good luck all. I’m looking forward to playing all the games, I just hope we don’t all make the same one ; )
P.S. No exciting breakfast photos here sadly as I’ve already eaten it. I’ll try and remeber to take a photo tomorrow. Of tomorrows breakfast that is, not of todays breakfast. That would just be wrong! Back to the code face.
