Hello world, this is going to be epic!
I got an idea and I’m going to start making it. I’ll be lazy this time and using a previous game of mine as basecode. The first thing I’ll probably do is remove most of the code, all graphics and well… start coding
Here is the warm-up photos that I took yesterday:
And here is my workplace:
I’ll probably be using my laptop, since it got windows, and has some power. The multi monitor setup is running ubuntu and has about 5 year old hardware
After ludum dare, I’m gonna install that nas(the white thing) so that’s why it’s on the desktop.
Edit/update: For those of you who want to follow me, here is the music I’m currently listening to (thanks last.fm) and here is my twitter
My Timelapse Video
I didn’t quite have enough time to finish even with the extra jam day. I am still working on it and I hope to bring it to completion relatively soon. In the meantime, enjoy this timelapse video of me working on the game. It covers 32 hours worth of work over a span of three days. More information is provided in the YouTube video description.
Live Stream
I’m streaming live from my desktop, so be sure to smile

Good Luck everyone

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen!
It’s my first LD proper. I’ve been around in Mini-LDs, mostly lurking and learning before jumping into the fray.
Still unsure whether to go for the jam or the real deal, I just hope I’ll have an entertaining weekend polishing some gamemaking skills.

Pictured on the right, what my work environment will look like this weekend.
The same picture as a panoramic image, the picture is old but the place looks exactly the same as it did last year.
Here’s what things look like in the street today, around in Punta del Este, Uruguay. There’s a big revamping going on the main street and I can hear a pneumatic drill from here, banging on the street; hope they’re gone for the weekend. That would certainly make for a better quality creative time
I’m still unsure which tools I will use. I have a C++/OGRE/OpenGL working environment, a FreePascal/SDL/OpenGL one, but I might just go for Flex/Flixel or Haxe if the project lends itself for it.
Food will mostly be sandwiches, possibly a steakburger, or pasta all of which is stocked in the fridge.
I’m already on IRC and I plan to be around working and hoping for inspiration to come. If I don’t manage to pull something in 48 hours I will still be there to hang out with some great people, and maybe lending a hand wherever I can.
Cheers!!
My lovely, messy workstation. Meows.
Friday, April 23rd, 2010 5:44 pmGot my SNES gamepad to (hopefully) get joystick stuff working in the game.
Got my Line 6 GuitarPort so I can hook up my guitar to the computer for cool recording stuffs.
The gold box to the left of my monitor is a Retrode that I won in a naming contest.
Fun!
Oh, and yes, I am using an old fan grill as a coaster for my now-empty glass of orange juice.
Workspace
I cleaned off my desk and bought some provisions for the weekend (Lorenz chips, Shark energy drinks, OJ). Here a pic of it, although it’s not impressive, or really tidy for that matter.

workspace
In the picture the OJ has been replaced with an orange+coke soft drink.
Thats it for today. I’m going to distance myself from the digital world, and try to relax, maybe do some stuff around the house. Go to bed early, and wake up when the compo starts. Then I plan to burn through the 48 hours with my 8 cans of energy drink. I have the next week off (no collage lectures) so I can afford to get sleep deprived and zombified.
Hope it will give me the edge I need.

Mah desktop!
Look how nice and tidy it is, this is how you do it, boys!
compo rocks

This is not my first time, and I hope is not the last
Planning to use on this one the current beta version of my framework that I started on LD15, that was made in Java, meanwhile I add Lua language to the mix, and support for android … here is the link for this alpha version http://jaga.athanazio.com/2009/12/alpha-version/
desktop + lunch! :3

Here’s my desktop, in all its dusty glory. I usually keep an a4 graphics tablet on here, but it’s staying off the desk until tomorrow, so I can focus on coding. The laptop is running Windows, which is why I need it there.

And in the spirit of things, here is my lunch! Neither impressive nor especially healthy, but it keeps me at my desk! Omnomnom!
