Second Ludum Dare? Possibly.
Thursday, August 23rd, 2012 11:59 amSo I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to dedicate the time I did to my last entry, but I think I’ll give it a shot anyway and see if I can at least crank out something simple.
I will be using Construct2 this time, so HTML5
I’ll also be using:
Pixel Art Editor for Android
sfxr
Autotracker-BU
I’ll update if I can think of anything else. Maybe I’ll try to use Inkscape.
So what does everyone think, what are you going to do with 1000 Kittens?
I’m in!
A bit late with the intent to enter, I know. It seems like an interesting theme though. I’m going to be doing this using Quest, I think. And I will likely be working with a friend of mine on this, so I guess we’ll be submitting under the jam rules.
In It To Win It… Or Just In It?
Not feelin’ too sweet about this one for some reason. I wasn’t around for the last LD due to schoolwork. Now that finals are over… I just feel DRAINED. Been sitting at the computer way too much recently. Sitting at the computer for another 3 days straight? OH GAWD.
So maybe I’ll just jam a little.
Either way… rad games are gonna be made, and that’s always a good thing.
SEE YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD, SUCKAZ!
Mini-LD #26 – I’m In For This One
I’m in for Mini-LD #26.
Here’s what I plan to use for this:
- ActionScript 3 – Programming Language
- FlashPunk – Boilerplate Library
- Flex – AS3 Compiler
- Geany – IDE
- Inkscape – Graphics
- as3sfxr – Sound Generator
I’m not sure what I’ll make just yet. But, I’ve realized that I really do like Flash and I really do like AS3. I shouldn’t fight that love.
Peace, love, and clean code,
— Mr. Dude
Joining the fun
LD18 didn’t went for me as planned as I was really busy that week-end and couldn’t finish at all. I didn’t get further than the initial idea.
But there is another chance for me in less than two hours and I feel confident that I will do some actual coding this time. I’m going to be joining the compo. Although there will probably be no Subway sandwich food photo this time as I stocked up on snacks so I don’t even need to leave the house.
My tools of choice:
- Compiler / IDE: FreePascal 2.4.3 / Lazarus 0.9.29
- Framework: Self-made on top of SDL, SDL_mixer, SDL_ttf and Vampyre Imaging
- Basecode: Download here (3.2 MB)
- Graphics: Cinema 4D, Blender, GIMP, Pixelmator, Paint and my cheap A5 graphics tablet and maybe even Sculptris depending on the theme
- Sound: SFXR/CFXR, Microphone and Voice Candy
- Music: GarageBand
- Timelapse: Chronolapse under Windows, my little screenshot command-line tool + Timelapse Assembler under Mac OS X
More stuff like a desk photo if you click to view this as a full post.
Precompo declarations, photos.
Framework: This Stego AS3 framework thing that I’ve accumulated over the last several months: http://bitbucket.org/excitemike/stego/
IDE: FlashDevelop. compiling with mxmlc.
Music: I’m thinking WarioWare DIY, then recorded and edited in GoldWave.
Graphics: A copy of Photoshop CS 1 which as far as you know was obtained completely legitimately.
Sound Effects: I bet you can guess this one.
Will be listening to: Switching Pandora between a DragonForce station and a station based on music from movie montages (on which the Transformers: The Movie (animated) soundtrack comes up often!
).
For timelapse: I will be using Keeyai’s Chronolapse on account of it’s awesomeness.
Desk:

The Brachiosaurus will be relocated before the compo begins.
Refridgerator:

In case you wondered whether I like bottled water.
Additional foodstuffs:

crunchy munchies
Inspiration:

I should be playing the GameCube version with bongos.

Projector + FC Twin + Super Game Boy + Game Boy Donkey Kong = Heaven!
Sauce Control: Mercurial, which I love.
Twitter: ExciteMike
Favorite Dinosaur: Microraptor gui
And actually I may use Unity, depending on what kind of ideas I get once the theme is announced, but the above is most likely.
I need to get a decent camera. The webcam built into the cheap laptop is kind of a pain to use.
