Guns Rule - MadGnomeGamer - Mini LD Entry

This is a game about guns! Blow away monsters with a huge variety of randomly generated guns. Some of the monsters have guns too, so watch out!

PRESS F1 FOR HELP when in the game

This is a prototype, of sorts, of a larger idea I had. Let me know if you think it's worth expanding on!

I am definitely interested in the random generation of weapons. Also appreciate how you added random abilities to the ammo pickups.

You should explore your concept further, but I don't think the limited resolution helped to showcase it. Smash TV-style arenas or large levels with rooms and corridors would be cool though.

The way the player rotates around the point of the gun was odd too.

    Thanks for playing!

I probably would do the full version in a different resolution. And yeah; I tried to fix the rotation thing but I couldn't get the fix code to work.

Features I would add in the full version would include:

    Lightening and Tongue attacks

Players creating their own guns and sharing them like user levels

    Much awesome-er graphics

Monsters having ALL types of guns available to use

    Bosses

I like the idea here, but pressing G to pick things up seemed unintuitive (in fact I didn't realize it the first play through and just died when I ran out of bullets). And like ilo said, the resolution doesn't really help show off the game- bigger, more open arenas would suit it much better.

All in all you've got a good idea here that you should definitely explore further, but I think the theme actually hurt the game more than it helped.

Interesting idea, you should definitely keep working on it. Something really good could come out of this concept. =)

Good idea, bad game. The weapons are unbalanced (if you have melee weapon and static enemy, you are dead). The gameplay is too quick to feel the variety; I simply don't have time to read what did I get. You better remake it from a scratch.
And an idea: make everything random-generating: random graphics, random levels.

Good suggestions, Madball! It is a little 80's button-mashy, I agree. And i WILL have random levels. And a buttload of new gun things, more balanced as well.
