summit - Zillix - Competition Entry

I have a huge fear of heights. As mundane as that is, it carries over into my gaming- if I run a character too close to an edge, especially in 3D, my stomach drops. My goal was to recreate that feeling for everybody else, as best as I could.

I got my inspiration from a BBC Planet Earth episode, where I saw a mountain goat living its normal life on the sheer cliff of a mountain, and I thought about how frightening that would be for me.

I actually made the game last weekend, but I took some time to have a friend who had shown some interest at my last LD to write some music for me.

Controls:
Left and right arrows to move.
X to jump
Down arrow to drop down from an edge
Hold up arrow to grab the underside of an edge

The game is hosted on kongregate. If you enjoy it, rate it up!

Wow, good job! I like how cohesive the entire game feels. The wind effects really annoyed me, so the controls got a little frustrating as I got higher on the mountain. The goat was cute.

Fantastic! Really well done, and incredibly difficult. I'm impressed!

Yes I did have a fear of falling while playing this - it built up pretty well! : )

Not to reiterate what increpare said above but, I felt a hollow spot in my stomach while playing your game, it felt great and that is awesome. Cheers!

Ditto what everyone else has said - also I loved the emotional impact of the introduction: a set of simple but powerful statements that really set the mood. Wonderful game!
