While I was playing the text moved way too quickly. I had to play it a second time trying to speed read it to figure out what was going on.
I am running Chromium via Ubunutu 11.04
I like the graphics and the plot. The mood was set very well!
Wow! Easily my favorite game of this compo so far. The graphics were great and the mood and immersion were over the top. Then again, I'm a sucker for sci-fi adventures :) Loved it!
Good entry. It has a good story potential, even though the gameplay was limited to following a predefined series of events. Great graphics :)
The mood created by the audio and graphics was great. A nice little tale! Well done!
Wow, this is great! Wonderful atmosphere and the music is excellent. Good story and use of the theme as well. You definitely got a lot done in 24 hours!
I think my only complaint is that the game is too 'directed' in that instead of having to figure anything out the computer tells you what to do (almost) the whole time. Some light puzzle solving would have improved that for me, but overall I still really enjoyed it.
Oh, and for whats it's worth, my game is pretty similar in terms of tone/atmosphere/story. It also takes place on Mars but that's kind of a secret :)
That was a really interesting story, actually. It reminded me an awful lot of something Ray Bradbury would write, in a good way. I half-expected some sort of a HAL 9000 deal, but thankfully you didn't go through that overused route. The graphics were well-done, and the music was astounding. I just wish perhaps there was a bit more interactivity; I was essentially just walking around and pressing space. Still, that was a very compelling interactive story, great job man!
This was nice, predictable but well made. Too bad there is no sound. That would have made an great impact on the atmosphere! well done.
Madpew, if you don't hear the sound, try Firefox or Chrome, and make sure you have the most up to date version. Thanks for the comment, man
I certainly enjoyed the story, but truth be told I was a little squicked out by some of the body horror alluded to in the ending. Still, I thought it was well planned out. :)
The music suited the game, and the graphics were really quite pleasing too. Very well done!
Very good story, graphics and music. Despite it lacks a gameplay as You are guided through the whole game by the computer it is a very good and polished game :D
Awesome job!
Wow, that was excellent! This is one of my favourites so far. I liked the music as well. It had a 70s sci-fi synthesizer feel to it that was absolutely perfect for the atmosphere. The 'game' is a little restrictive, but the story was really enjoyable. Well done!
Good story, fun to play, but I had trouble going through doors. Always had to jiggle around a bit before they'd open.
This is one of my favourites so far!
The atmosphere is really cool, nice work.
BRAVO, This is one of my favorites. Musice was GREAT. art was GREAT. theme was good and I having a story was refreshing from all the previous games I have been playing. Nice writing. Nice Game!
Thank you for this nice game! I love sci-fi and your game caught my attention on the entries list. Liked the story, the mood and the graphics!
Very awesome!!! Amazing you got that much done so fast; I was really hoping the story would come to an end and it wouldn't be a "more later". Great job! :)
really good and put ot gether in such a short time it was kinda go here and go there not much interaction and the theme was kinda lacking untill the end but other then that it was really good game. I think it would make a good 3d game aswell
Music and art is very effective.
I managed to get some kind of bug, where I locked down the lab without having gone outside, so then when he said come outside to see my new world I couldn't because the door was locked. But I liked the mood enough I played it a second time, following all the instructions so I could see how it's supposed to play out.
Enjoyed this game enough that when it finished I wanted more. I like the idea and would love to see it further developed, the graphics are brilliant. The only thing I didn't like was the forced pathway, but then this was necessary for the story line.
Great game, the Graphics and audio are fantastic the music sounds similar to the music from the original Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy TV series. The map is nice as well it does feel like you are in a small research station.
Only only negative point was the story wasn't only linear (not always a bad thing) but you were constantly told exactly what to do.
Really awesome game. Very weird, but cool style of graphics.
I can't believe it was done in two days.
I absolutely loved this. The atmosphere was perfect, and the writing was mostly really good (a few mistakes here and there but nothing too bad). If you were to make this in a wider time frame, you'd probably want to make all of your graphics make sense as currently the perspective of the character vs the environment was a bit disorienting, but that didn't stop the game from being amazing. Really great work.
Wow, the plot is... well, it's awesome. Crazy awesome, especially since I love all those movies like Moon or Space Odyssey 2001. This is probably the highest rated game by me so far! I love every bit of it!
Atmospheric, music and story are really nice. I think this game have great potential to 'evolve' in some serious adventure. I felt there would be some dramatic ending judging by the music that drives the game, but I like it be more optimistic as it is. Good job.
Great job! I wished there was a second ending or something so that you didn't have to "evolve" at the end, but instead fought back. But great mood, the ambient sounds were amazing!
Really nice mood and story. More like an interactive story, but none the less pretty cool!
Enjoyed the plot a lot! Also think the top down perspective is well done, especially the shower and the fridge.
Amaaaaaazing audio and mood! What a creepy, creepy game. Very well done! I couldn't get "outside" to meet the new cpu though. I walked back through every room to every corner, and even tried space-bar-ing every wall wolfenstein style. I want to finish! :S
Hey, Whilefun- ***SPOILER ALERT*** Go back into the airlock room and space bar the valve marked "manual open". Thanks for the comments!!! :)
awesome retro-sci-fi music :-D The AI reminded me of the movie Moon.
Great story, nicely done interface, and good theme. I felt the gameplay didn't give me a lot of choices, but I think a lot of big budget games work the same way in that there is a very linear progression through a set story arc.
I really like it! I thought it could use some slight polish, and yeah, I guess maybe some more gameplay, but you managed to spin together a nice sci-fi experience. One flaw with the story many people have overlooked, which is good for you guys: Why does he need a suit the first time he goes out, but not the second? Just a thought.
This was really good. It an amazing atmosphere to it, top marks for mood and music.
A very well-done interactive story. You had my full attention until the very end.
That was great! :D I had a moment where I was like... I'm in space... haha! I love the boring bits of everyday space life. Great again, thank you! :D
I love the story and the mood in this. Sadly it was too easy, but I enjoyed it because of nice setup.
poor guy!
you must've worked your sorry ass on this!
there's always the jam!
good luck!
all i can do is give a rating.
there's a glitch to skip story. if you pick up the tazer as early as the time your told to go eat food and then walk up to the lab and press space it will skip the story to where the monster breaks out. you then get stuck in the space ship as the airlock won't open when you are prompted to go out and see it on the outside. otherwise very cool graphics. it was short but very good. awesome job!!
