NICE SHOOT - ambushsabre - Jam Entry
A platform shooter with random elements and several different weapons with 8 upgrades each!

UPDATE: yeah, there's some problems with the audio. I could fix it, but I think this goes against the spirit of the jam since it's not game-breaking or anything. Please understand, and consider the awesome music done by Folmer when giving the audio score!

ah, one thing, z is bad for german keyboard, where y and z are switched.
Hey Starmen, read the instructions! It does tell you, because we designed the levels so that you could pick ahead of time!

Loved it- Job very well done. The monster pixel art was great! Loved the evolution of your weapon-
The graphics are great! The gameplay though needs a little bit of work. It took me a while to figure out what was going on, and the sound effects sounded a little messed up. And bullets pass through enemies, which makes shooting enemies unsatisfying. If you fix those issues, this game would be great!
The sound effects are kind of annoying... It sounds like they're playing more than once like they should. It's okay, though. I think there's an end, right?, but I haven't gotten to it.
Great graphics, gameplay was cool, could have done with being a bit faster but each to their own. I liked the amount of upgrades, you sure did make a lot of sprites :) The sound bugged out whenever I was shooting or when the end of the level gem appeared. As in the sounds would play on repeat 50 times a second. Nice game though!
I really enjoyed the concept, look, and feel. The music was also good, but the sound effects hurt my face. Not only were they repetitive, they were way louder than the music. Other than that, I really enjoyed the game, top 5-10 I've played so far.
Felt there was some problem with the audio. Besides that you have there a nice game. Well done!

It'd be nice to be able to pull up the instructions at any time as my memory isn't what it used to be - but truly a very polished game
Really good concept and, generally, a solid execution. Controls felt a bit unresponsive at times - the framerate seemed low?
Shame about the audio problems! Hope you manage to fix them in a later version.
Overall, very very good! I really liked the art style; it's my kind of thing. The five weapons really add a lot of customization and replay value. I also liked that each weapon lent itself to a unique play style. With the poison weapon I was a lot more careful and strategic while with the laser it was pretty much run and gun. The audio problems affected my FPS and made timing jumps really hard. Again, very good.

Really nice work man. The way the weapon stuff works is super cool, although some indication of what each colour does would've been nice so that I could pick stuff that was appropriate to the situation I was in. Really nice art and sound, too.
