Dragoncore Overdrive - NMcCoy - 48 Hour Compo Entry

It's like Dragondot, with evolving foes, random mutations as powerups, and other new stuff! When you kill an enemy, the surviving enemy that has dealt the most damage to you creates a child with a random mutation applied (and with the dice skewed so it will on average be slightly stronger than its parent). Thus, the enemies will evolve over time to fight you better. At least in theory.

    TIPS:

    * Use the Dash to escape from tight situations: it makes you temporarily invincible, so you can slip right past attacks.

    * Kill foes in Overdrive mode to gain access to new mutations. Some of them might not be good, so you may not want to take all of them!

    * Hold the Attack key to charge a pounce, then hit Dash to strike for double damage! To use the lock-on pounce, charge a pounce and then hit Dash while not holding a direction.

Cool man, I liked this a lot (can't believe you don't have more comments!!) Takes a little while to get the hang of it but when you do it's really fun! Overdrive mode is awesome!

Some things that seemed off - after you go through overdrive mode it seems like you get the opportunity to 'level up' a bunch - but this never seems to happen doing regular play. It'd be nice if the enemies occasionally dropped health power ups - and on that same note, the life bars are so minuscule I never had any idea how much health I had left anyway.

But yeah, besides those kind of nitpicky things I think this was a really good entry, hopefully more people will stop by and play it!

Pretty solid gameplay with the variety and depth of enemy stat combinations. I never could reach overdrive mode, but it was still fun to play!

Nice game but it was kind of hard to me. I got 100xp but then I died :(. If the game was a little bit easier I could have loved it. Also I don't like the HP things they are too small and it takes time to understand that this thing indicates your HP, but that's my personal opinion.
