    Move the Cheese - aschearer - 48 Hour Compo Entry

    You are a lazy, psychicly gifted mouse. It's 3PM and time for some refreshment. Use your ESPer powers to bring the cheese to you for a snack.

    This game is based on an associated word: revolution.

    Enjoyed the game, it got difficult very fast and had to give up :( Very fun/cool idea though.

    The difficulty level was really up and down. The first level took me a while, while the second I beat in a few moves. The lack of audio was disappointing. The graphics art stylish and smooth.

    Cool puzzle mechanic but looking more than one step ahead is rather difficult which sometimes made me feel like I was just aimlessly rotating until I hit the cheese. Not very on-theme.

    Fun, but I played more by guessing than really thinking about the different objects in the level. I played to level 8.

    I had quite a bit of fun with this game. It might be that I'm exhausted, but I had no luck with level 8. Also a bit annoying but when you are one move away from being attacked by a cat, there is absolutely nothing you can do stop it as usually both turns will give the same results. Not sure if a single undo would be useful here, but it's irritating to know that after working through a large number of turns on a puzzle seeing that you are one away from starting over. Given the mechanics of the game, I'm not sure if there is anything that could be done to alleviate this.

    I got stuck on level 8, but I enjoyed it up until then :) The mouse and cat graphics were a bit too similar, I mistook one for myself at one point :p

    I only miss some music, sounds and an instance reset button. Nice game! My son will enjoy this game too.

    Simple but hard to stratergize the movements! A few sounds and some color can turn this into a neat little game. It lagged a little for me, but this is because it was played under a virtualized W7!

    Quite an interesting mechanic, although I tended to rotate more or less randomly until there was an obvious way to win. Some levels were much harder than others.

    Haha, pretty awesome, I liked the variation in items! You could also post a raw-exe + assets zip for those of us who already have XNA redist! ;)

    Though I don't really see how this is related to the theme...

    Definitely tough to get the hang of thinking ahead! Some more contrived intermediate levels would definitely help develop player skills, if you were to flesh this out more. It was hard to grasp how the balloons worked at first.

    As for fitting with the theme...is it because the mouse evolved psychic powers that allow it to move the room its in rather than run to the cheese?

    Worked well and made me use my brain, nice simple interface that let you get on with solving the puzzles. I liked the variation in block types as well

    I love the chess-effect. This isnât the type of game to plow into and randomly move pieces, but rather one that provokes methodical and thoughtful execution, requiring the player to look several turns in advance to find a solution. This is definitely a fantastic exercise for your brain.

    The hand-drawn style works well and could certainly be expanded upon.
    It took me a while to figure out the first level, which kinda happened randomly. Definitely could really benefit from some sound effects and maybe some pointing-out of things (i.e. "kitty (avoid)"). Seems like a good start.

    Love the game mechanic, love the art style, love the way the difficulty ramps up. The only negative for me was the first few minutes, I restarted the game a few times before I realized what I needed to do and how I could do it.. after that it was clear sailing. Too bad the theme isn't so well reflected in the entry. Overall: fun little game.

    Fantastic entry. Very charming. The art melds well with the mechanic and it all seems very peaceful.

    If the resolution was a little smaller you could keep this open on the desktop is a little toy. Very well done. Looking forward to seeing your work in the future.

    I did not appreciate needing to install the game using a setup. Just an executable would be more convenient.
    But otherwise, all good!
