OMG, GMOS! - Afrodynamics - 48 Hour Compo Entry
Windows | Source | Mac (Not Sure Will Work)
Recreate the "disastrous" results of a genetic experiment with the livestock of Old MacDonald's Farm. Feed, irradiate, and poke "specimens" for the good of science! You can genetically modify, or evolve, your critters. For example, the game will support critters with 0 to 99 (or more) legs. That's pretty fun to watch.
I'm going for the "humor" rating, if you didn't catch that already. :D
I didn't get enough time to implement all the features I have somewhat programmed in, but I did my best. I'm pretty proud to have a product coming out of my first ever game jam -- it's not only my first LD, it's my first game competition... ever.
EDIT: Considering how much potential the engine has, I may continue work on it post-compo.

The engine is good. Finding other mechanics like feeding animals would have make it a very playable game.
You have entered the competition pretty late, however you've even managed to make an icon for the game. The Laboratory is a great idea, and the animals are very sympathetic. The graphics is very clear but maybe a bit poor.
It's a pity that after taking out all the legs, and pigs start flying in the air (Eg. They could be transported by the scientist with a wheelchair)
I have also noticed that the legless pig can still have it's legs taken out (0-1=0 ???)
The game itself is really funny and can be expanded.
My beloved Pig Melissa was unreachably hidden behind a gigantic 23 legged Pig-Cow that I had accidently exposed to radio-active materials. Melissa died before I could feed her back to live. R.I.P. Melissa. (Read: I had a ton of fun)
Pretty funny, yes. Definitely could have used goals of some kind (make a cow with 8 legs and a pig head) because I got bored relatively quickly with no direction. Also the sound when text was appearing was extremely annoying in my headphones. Great overall.

The only way this could've been better is if there was a point to it, but I really liked it!
