Ludum Dare 23
April 20th-23rd 2012 :: 10 Year Anniversary! :: Theme: Tiny World
Corebound - Ryusui - Jam Entry
You are X-753, a heroic space explorer trapped in an alternate dimension! Navigate to the center of each planetoid and make your escape!
Arrow keys to move, Z to jump.
Please note that there is a slight glitch with Stencyl's built-in Box2D engine: the player will occasionally "snag" on the ground. This should not pose a serious hindrance to gameplay: tapping the jump button will rectify the issue should it occur.
UPDATE 4/29/2012: The new 1.1 version eliminates the snagging glitch. The original comp release can still be played from the "Web" link above.

Very clever level design, I got too frustrated with the last level though, I'll have to come back to it
Excellent! The gravity implementation was awesome. I was like 'hm, no level, I guess i'll kill myself' - BAM!
Good work!
I liked the idea, and the little man was so adoreable, but please don't implement a mouse if you don't need one. It was really annoying switching back and forth from mouse to keyboard everytime I died/cleared a level.
Oh yeah, about that. You can press Z to continue. Forgot to mention. ^_^;
Nice implementation of the gravity mechanic. Moving around was a little sketchy.
Wow that was amazing! Definitely one of my favourite games in the jam. I'm glad I persisted with the Final Exam level, it was a surprise to see the boss, who was awesome.
The whole mechanic is really very cool, I like how you can build momentum and then use it to 'fling' yourself around half the level. The level design was very good, and explored a lot of cool implications of the mechanic.
Overall, really great job. Loved it! :D
Cool idea!
The retry button breaks the flow of the game. I would take that away...and restart automaticly :)
anyway, Good Job! :)
Clever levels design! Also, a very refreshing gameplay. Thanks!
I like it, finally got to the end. But the music drives me batty. x_x
Good level design, and a boss battle, not bad! Couldn't you have given us a version without an ad?
The 1.1 version available above is now ad-free. Sorry 'bout that.
I didn't appreciate the ad in the 'loading screen'. Ads are fine in post compo versions, not so much in the compo ones.
Yeah, I ended up swapping it around here. Like an idiot, I didn't think to back up the comp version before modifying it into 1.1.
Some little problems on blocks placement but the idea of a reversible platformer is good :)
Good job.
Really fun, though the snagging glitch frustrated me a lot. Good to see that's fixed now.
I almost quit the game before giving it a try because of the loud video ad played at the beginning of it. You might want to compare your ad revenue to how many players you're driving away before they even play. Up to you.
But I did end up giving it a chance, and it ended up being a really fun game. Great job.
Thanks. I'm still sort of a newbie at this; I figure trying to monetize my game is a good idea, but the Mochi ads are kinda disruptive in retrospect. Again, though, the 1.1 version now leaves them out.
Cool little game, music got a bit repetitive though. Was fun flying around and the moon walk level was pretty cool.

Reminds me of Greg Egan's story "Incandescence" :D
