I really liked it. Choose your adventure vibe, but with rockpaperscissos-based battles. Surprisingly deep and interesting throughout. I liked how instead of just saying that the person became stronger or with more health, you integrated the reason why into the story each time you beat an enemy or find an item.

My suggestion if you want to keep building is to try and reduce the long reading passages where there are no choices. That's all I can think of for now.

I definitely saved it to play again later after the Ludum Dare craze. Congrats!

Thank you ^_^ Yeah, when I was making it, I wanted there to be a choice whether or not you went into the crevice at the back of the cave, but I put some important story in there, which I couldn't have you able to skip >_< My friend's gunna help me change it into Java (and help me learn Java) and I'll probably change a few things. Thanks again for the play/review, I'm glad you enjoyed it =)

I like the COA-style as well. Some of the writing felt a bit run-on and needlessly wordy. For a large block of text, pressing up skips the text instead of scrolling up. But as mentioned, you probably shouldn't have such large chunks of text at once. I enjoyed it though and wouldn't mind playing a more polished version in a better text engine.

I see what you're getting at, but in the 'choose your own adventure' books, doesn't it sometimes have a page or two of writing before you choose an option? I tried to keep it shorter, apart from the bit with the crevice.

fun little game! would have liked it in a different format/engine, and the writing a bit more polished but i did like it. the battles were a little annoying at times but i guess thats just the nature of rock paper scissors (i'm not a fan and haven't been since alex kidd ruined my life...) but yeah, good work!

Nice text adventure, I agree the battle mechanic is a good idea. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this that much because I felt that the story vastly outweighed my choices. Generally I was just reading a lot, "you decided to do this" "you decided to do that" rather than actually deciding. Seems to defeat the purpose of a text adventure.

Interesting! Very much choose-your-own-adventure, I liked it!
