Hilarious graphics! I found it frustrating to play tough, it's very hard to judge hitboxes with this kind of art style.
Interesting little side scroller. While I didn't feel the theme in the game, I was certainly amused/confused by the art style. ;) Good job.
Thank you very much for your comments! The art is certainly special which I think also makes the game special. Also, maybe you didn't noticed, but all the sound FXs are made by us and a microphone :-) Was funny, heh.
@mitkus: I noticed it specially in the ceiling/floor of the level. Is that what you mean?
@zenasprime: The topic is certainly nerdy. Quarks and Leptons are the most fundamental (small) particles around the Universe (putting aside strings and other physicists' illusions). That's our connection with "tiny world".
@MaximSchoemaker: Sorry about that. I just uploaded a blank page with the applet in the middle. Now I've added some color and text so it's more evident where the game should load.
Tried it 4 times - twice it froze at the "Checking for Updates" step, and twice at the "Loading Libraries" one :(
Loved the art & audio. Controls for attacking were a little confusing, but still fun to play through.
@TenTonToon sorry to hear that! Which OS/Java version do you use? I've no idea what could cause that...
@Gareth Thanks! In the beginning we wanted to drive a meson (aggregations of only two quarks). The two quarks forming it would give the attacks/buffs you could use. Enemies would drop quarks you could use to replace your attacks/buffs. Didn't have time to do it, so we placed all attacks/buffs by default. That's why it's so easy to win :-(
Hey, very nice and functional shmup. Loved the use of typography and the sounds. Also, great music.
I was kinda confused on the style first, but then I read the comments and understand. Nice game, especially the art :)
I feel the hitboxes could use some tweaking and the amount of buttons needed for various functions feel redundant. But I am always a fan of shmups and the gameplay was pretty fun :).
Thanks for playing and your comments :-) In case we make a new version we will improve the hitboxes.
This is fantastic! The art is amazing and I think it represents the theme very well, it feels very microcopic. Good, tight controls, to.
Funny graphics and sounds, kudos for not using sfxr/bfxr! Too many keys! I missed some kind of feedback afte rhitting something, e.g. particles, louder sound or something.

I have a feeling the game's page isn't loading :/
