orange thing - elvis75k - 48 Hour Compo Entry
This is my first try. Never ever done something like this before but i have always dreamed of. It's a simple sprite in a tiny world, some bytes that will definitely change my life.
Guide him using arrow keys and you'll soon discover how tiny is the world of Orange Thing.
Note: the source code doesn't provide some assets so you can't run the game if you don't own it. Read the readme for more info.

Cute little entry. I'll go easy on you, since I can't program at all. My easiest improvement would be to have spent just a wee bit more time on the graphics, even half an hour, to make the main character be a smiling critter with a hat or something. Maybe 7 lines of text would establish a meta-joke that you're stuck in an Atari, just to turn the retro look into humor.
hehe thank you! I can't wait to start another compo; i've learned so much lately :)
Cool backgrounds!
The graphics don't bother me in the least. I'd suggest making the character move a bit faster, but I guess that's more of a subjective thing.
I liked how much depth the background added. Nice job for your first time.
Hehe, this was my first LD too. As simple as it is, it's still a game, part of the 1K plus made in just a weekend. Remember that you already won just by making a game. Think about those who will never make one. Nice job dude :)
For a first attempt - you've got jumping, moving platforms and parallax backgrounds (always a must!). Congrats!
Like others have said, you've got the basics here which is great, but they need something else to make this a playable game.
I love the character graphics, actually. :) But when I do it one more time, nothing happens!
