Lady Bug!!! - Nightsjester - 48 Hour Compo Entry
Windows | OS/X | Linux | Web | Source
I am not much of a programmer (at all) so using my limited knowledge of game maker and stuff I threw this together. I don't think I followed the theme very well... but at least its cute! Right?
Anyway you really can't lose in this game but you can win! Won't that make you feel awesome? Oh and there is no music because what I made for music was nightmare fuel.
Anyway to screw with the source (if you can call it that..) you will need to get the game maker studio beta.
EDIT: I really wish I had more time to work on this, I am planning on releasing a more fleshed out version at some point. Anyway thankyou for all the kind feedback!

So far this is a game with the best graphics I have rated. Quite fun to play, too!
Cool to see that someone else has made a ladybird game :) Nice graphics and gameplay, although I occasionally fell through platforms when I was using the fall move.
It's awfully slow on Chrome (but run perfectly normal on Firefox I don't know why) :( The graphics (especially the green tiles) are really rad!
Thanks for the positive comments guys! I truly appreciate it, and I apologize for the "fall" platform fall-through bug, I didn't discover it until about 20 minutes after the compo ended.
Also too slow on Firefox, Windows 7, mediocre video card, 2-year old laptop.
Seems cool otherwise. I think it fits the theme fine.
Nice and beautiful game!
Second level more than 700 hearts?? haha

The style was really nice. Needs to add a little more impetus for the player to continue, though-- just collecting all of the hearts was not very compelling. Very nice work nonetheless though!
Cute indeed! The sounds get repetitive after a while, especially the falling down one. Didnt finish the second level, going all the way back up going down the pit 2 times was a bit longish.
Didnt have any bugs (except the hero hohoho) and it all seemed pretty well done.
Great graphics, but the falling sound scared my cats.
The level design was pretty good, but far too long. I didn't realize I could press up really quickly to fly higher until I saw part of a level that looked way too high to reach. I didn't finish the game, it got too tedious to find the hearts in the second level. All in all, I liked it. A pretty solid entry. :)
The graphics are cute, but it's really the only thing that stands out for this game.
Otherwise than that I felt like it was waaaay too tedious and boring to just run around and find all of the 700+ hearts. The sounds also get repetitive. There's no challenge or premise, which is kind of disappointing since the graphics are flawless.
Charming little platformer. The flying controls could be improved a bit, they are a bit frustrating. Good job, keep making more!
Nice graphics! But collision was bad and I fell through the ground(to limbo) after a couple of minutes playing.
The everything looked nice but the sound was very loud and there wasn't much reason to get moar hearts. Also ran very slowly on my laptop :(
Visually it is really nice. It would be great if the game had a little more of an "why you do what you do" even if it just would be a small story text or so. I missed that :) Simon
cool graphics, controls are kinda bad though, really sticky and hard to move, a little laggy in firefox as well, the download links are misleading, it's a html5 game not a linux native game.

Very cute and pretty, really like the style. Character is a bit hard to control properly and gameplay a bit empty. Good job nonetheless!
