My Wonderful World - @daniel_sundberg - 48 Hour Compo Entry

My Wonderful World is an attempt at a sim-game for a REALLY tiny world.
Men and women arrive at your train station looking for love and money.
After a "game-ticks"-night of sleep its off to work to earn some hard earned
cash with the compulsory after-work-party where all the singles can hook up
with the man/women of their dreams. Spending a night in the apartment
building with their significant other gives the women a chance to become
pregnant and after a "game-ticks" period of pregnancy they head to the
hospital for delivery, giving birth to a healthy young boy/girl, and the circle of
life is complete. Watch out though, your humans never know when their
"life-ticks" runs out, and if they loose all their money they're heading back to
the train station to seek their fortune elsewhere. Complete with annoying
    looping soundtrack.

    *update*
Ok, so I kind of makde it demaning a device running Android 3.0.
Also the display is super tweaked for my Galaxy Nexus so you just
    might get displaced sprites ;)

The >1.6 apk should at least not complain on devices starting from 1.6
and beyond. The display issue is codechanges though, so those are
    features rather than bugs :D

    --requirements
Android 1.6 device (if you want to see the entire canvas, you probably want to go buy a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or just go with the flow ;) )

    --tools
    Eclipse
    Gimp
    Renoise
    Lame

Not really sure what I am supposed to. Also I can only see the 4 buildings to the left of your screenshot. Using a Samsung Galaxy S with ICS 4.04(unofficial).

Ah, got it running on my Transformer. It might help if you let us know it's for Honeycomb and higher in your description.

All the graphics seem to be out of alignment from your picture. There's a large open space off to the right of the fifth building, and all the buildings seem to be levatating off the ground. The pixel art is really nice, but the alignment is pretty far off for devices that don't share your aspect ratio and pixel density.

I couldn't figure out what the -/+ buttons were supposed to accomplish. What do they do?

Nice, peaceful loop in the background. :)

Thanks, I'll check back later with my phone. I too made my entry as an Android game, so I'm going out of my way to look for fellow Android devs. :)

Just updated with a repacked apk for 1.6 and beyond, tested for several seconds in the emulator. The -/+ changes modifiers for the buildings, what they do is part of the fun to explore ;)

Doesn't work on my phone. It also keeps playing music even after I quit, until I uninstall the application.

I like that you made an android game.

On my Galaxy Ace I could only see the apartment building, hospital and factory. Played with it for a little not sure what was going on, but looking at your screenshot I see that I should have had a few more buildings to play with. I have scored based on the part I could play.

Nice job though, it's just a shame that I couldn't play it properly.

I didn't know what to do. The first time I tried to run it, I got to the intro screen but couldn't go to the game and the music kept playing until I uninstalled the game. After installing it again, I could play but didn't understood what I am suppossed to do. Trying to click the +/- buttons on the buildings increased the number by 6 or 7 each time, but I didn't see a difference and I just watched the number of humans go up, but no couples nor children.

I think the music is cool, by the way.

The music is great, too bad the canvas doesn't fit on the Nexus One :-(
