    Baby Farm - MrEvilGuy - 48 Hour Compo Entry

    Here it is, the one and only Baby Farm.

    Simple Description:
    You plant baby seeds in a farm and watch them grow up. A metaphor for life. As we grow older, the world becomes smaller, eventually tiny, and women are everywhere.

    Tips:
    -Do not press the "Start Living!" button unless you've already planted some babies!
    -Do not choose "normal" speed unless you are an experienced baby farmer!
    -Babies need food and sleep to keep them alive! Make sure you surround them with beds and food.
    -When you turn into a man, use the arrow keys to move him around.
    -Also, do not trap anything living in a 1x1 closed area, the game will freeze.

    First Ludum Dare entry.

    "A metaphor for life. As we grow older, the world becomes smaller, eventually tiny, and women are everywhere."
    I'm definitely going to quote this sometimes :D

    because I screwed up my first time - all the babies died (in a disturbing manner) this was a bit unsettling

    What on earth did I just play?

    I don't know why I didn't think of this.

    Is the voice yours? I would've been too shy. Awesome.

    baby -> man -- yeah
    crib -> bed -- OK
    trough -> toilet -- I... thought you eat out of troughs
    food -> refrigerator -- why do you have to naked to operate the refrigerator?
    pond -> desk -- what
    duck -> woman -- I get it, like a chick
    pig -> pig

    I saw a duck ride the pig, and then I think I rode the pig!

    Thanks for the awesome comments!
    The voice is mine. I chugged several beers before the recording, so being shy wasn't an issue.

    "food -> refrigerator -- why do you have to naked to operate the refrigerator?"
    Honestly, it's a rarity for me to be clothed while grabbing food out of my fridge.

    Okay...I have no idea what I just played here...but it was kinda awesome in a weird way! Audio was great. Especially that opening song. ...oh what the heck, I'm gonna give it another go! :)

    This game is very... different. I'm not really sure if I was able to understand it but it was fun -in really a weird way-. Good job.

    ***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

    When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

    Please consider making a browser game next time.

    I'm agreeing with Flyboy - What was that? Somewhat funny but I have no idea what just happened!

    I don't even know what to say to that. Strategy game behind the guise of Baby Farm... it was certainly interesting to see the different things I could lay down in stage one evolve into new things as time progressed. The audio was funny at first, but hearing that same baby cry so many times tried my patience... just like a real baby! Fun entry! :D

    I don't think I relate this to the theme "Tiny World". Or actually, ANY theme, but it's hilarious and the graphics are pretty and unique! Kudos for the audio!

    For some odd reason I'm getting a 'Floating point division by 0' error after what I assume to be the splash screen.

    Thanks for the comments everyone! They're hilarious!

    As for the error you are getting, Andrew, I don't know what to say - haven't seen that before. Only fix I can think of is trying it on a different computer.

    Hmmmm, I mean.

    Whoa. I guess I'm done rating for tonight!

    The buttons have a good 100-pixel offset, so that what's actually clicked is a good 100 pixels above what you clicked. I think that's the reason I couldn't 'start living', too.

    So, I can't play your game. :(
