The wide immagination of a kid is the simplest way to trasform a tiny world into the greatest ocean, full of pirates and cannon balls! yahrrr

    ////////////////////////////////////////////////////
ATTENTION: on windows; it MAY crash after the intro... it's an opengl problem (i think). i'm really really sorry for this. all you can do is to restart the game a few times. sorry again :(

Water physics were neat, however, the game felt very sluggish overall. Shots in particular could have used a speed increase. I also felt that shots maybe should have bounced off the edge of the bath tub.

I really liked the concept behind this game. The water physics were wonderful, but the gameplay itself (movement, shooting) was a bit too unresponsive. Other than that, it was a very cute game, it made me smile.

Pretty decent. Could've used sound of some sort. There didn't appear to be any score, and the ending was kind of abrupt.... But there was game play, water physics, and the setting was great!

thank you all for your feedback! i really appreciate that you liked the water physics engine... i know i could improve the gameplay, bullet physics and so on; maybe with some time i could have done everything :P

Confusing - hard to distinguish between my ship and enemies when there is many of them.
Hard to aim and shoot - controls does not feel right.
Nice water physics as mentioned above.

I've made games my whole life and I remember making games in the bath tub too. The idea is great.

This game could have been improved with just a few small things: 1. Lower the resolution or increase the size of the images. 2. Add sound and MUSIC 3. Increase the sensitivity of the controls.

    Thank you for this.

    Hi Proch!
Sometimes the game closes suddenly, it doesn't seem to be the classic crash there's no error message or something similar.
How do I make the ship to shoot?
I'm agree with some (those that I've read :P) of the other comments, the water physics is awsomely (¿this word exists? yes I'm not english :D) implemented.
Congratulations to beat the LD48 dead line.
    Cheers!

Nice idea! Controls are killing it though.

Why you need to hold right to fire right? I don't want get closer to them, I want to kill 'em! And why can they shoot faster than me? It isn't fair.

Anyway water is nice but you need some serious optimalizations on it. The whole game is so slow it's almost unplayable.

@orgarus: yeah... it's an opengl problem on the windows build... i don't know how to fix it; anyway, it just need a restart :D

@rawbits: i have an old core2duo, and it runs on 60fps with ~15% cpu... try to colse torrent, youtube and other programs :D

Crashes for me as soon as the intro's finished. No error messages, Windows7 x64. Shame, cos this looks kind of fun.

As mattchu said already, the game felt slow and repetitive. An other kind of enemy would have been cool, maybe a submarine or helicopter.
Also, after a few minutes in game I wasn't sure who shot which cannon balls, and had to avoid all. I have a different flag than the others, why not a different cannon ball colour?
What I did like was the setting and opening.

@beerman try reopening the game a few times... i'm really sorry for this, but i encountered this problem when i built it on windows (50 mins before the end :D)

@free_napalm the first project was to make different types of weapons and ships indeed... but it takes too much time :'( and... the cannon ball are all the same color just because you can being killed by your balls... it's a feature not a bug :D

You should add OSX- I think all you would need to do is modify your MAKEFILE. :)

Wish i could play it - the concept of playing in a bath tub is so PERFECT for the theme... If you get a fix in, i'd still love to play it.

Cool, but it would be good if the shots bounced off the side and you could move the ship faster.

Funny. Nice water physics but how to control shoot direction?

    Proch says ...
    Apr 25, 2012 @ 11:53am

emm... there aren't controls for the shot direction... XD if i had some more time i could have added mouse pointing support and some balancing for the movement adn/or enemies... but... it's a 48h compo :D

Some nice ideas, but I found it a bit hard to control. Might've been nice to have a score or something too, as otherwise it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

I wish it was faster! Got the crashing bug, but after restarting it a few times I managed to get it to run. The water physics were neat :) Also, it'd be great to have better control over your shooting - seems like you can't shoot to the left while retreating to the right, for instance.

Neat idea; I like the intro slides a lot to set the mood. The water was very nice. Control of my ship was difficult, and the firing in particular seemed very difficult to do effectively. The enemies seemed to come and go at random whether I hit them or not. I like the upgrade packs - they were fun. A very cool idea for a setting with some great parts - just needs some refining on the gameplay end.

This game have a great potential. The acceleration make the boat fill a bit sluggish. As @mattchu said, making the game faster would make it more dynamic. I found it difficult to hit other boats.

    Great entry!

Fun game and awesome take on the theme. Controls could have done with some tweaking but it was fun regardless.

It crashed at the start of the game, and once it did work I was disappointed. I know it was the point, but the controls were just bad! I mean, a little delay between key press and movement was okay, but 10 seconds to move was a little ridiculous. You should have included an aim system too. That would have been very good, seeing as firing the canons are about as useful as shooting a water gun at a bandit. Sound would have been nice too, but I didn't mind.
