Paper Dream - Claw - 48 Hour Compo Entry
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Click objects to 'pick them up'.
To move the Earth you must first move the Heavens.

I loved the game, spent quite a while tinkering. I didn't even realized you could drag objects till I read the readme [and found that doing so is -extremely hard-], but by then I was already enamored with the idea of flying the paper guy around.
Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback! I think I'll add a little to the description for the controls.
Description and screenshots are very attractive. But I can't play the game - it runs extremely slow.
I have Windows 7 x64
Hmm, what hardware do you have? I've not run it on x64, I'll try and borrow a laptop to test it at work tomorrow.
Here's a version I removed the timer function on, it *should* run at the screen refresh rate:

Excuse me for a false alert. My out of date video driver caused the problem. I've just downloaded the new one, and the problem with the frame rate is now solved.
I liked the game. It's meditative. Thank you and good luck!
Unfortunately (for this case) I'm on mac, i'll try to get a Windows just to test this game. I looks interesting!
Hmm... Have you played Fly Guy? http://www.trevorvanmeter.com/flyguy/
I really loved the ghost-like movement of the character, and the game was really interesting. I just started getting heavy dejá vus at the point where I got to the sea.
Someone asked me about Flyguy on my post-mortem post, I honestly hadn't seen it before, so I was pretty amazed at the similarity!
I thought an ocean in the sky was pretty obscure, (loosely based on a dream I had earlier in the week) but it seems it wasn't as obscure as I thought.
Thanks for all the feedback, bulboka glad you got it running :)
I really liked the animation of the main character. The flowing looked great. Overall the graphics had a really nive feel to them.
The clicking to pick up objects seemed a little imprecise or innacurate. It was also a little annoying that, I guess, the player was picked up for selection, so that you couldn't pick something up if you were on top of it.
Not sure what you mean with that last point, the player isn't considered for pickup, and you can click through it picking up stuff behind.
Clicking targets are just AABBs (or rad checks, I forget) so they are probably a little bigger than the images.
Cheers for the feedback though.
Well, then I'm not sure what the cause was, but for whatever reason I thought I was having trouble picking up items when the player is directly over them. Replaying it now, I might have been imagining things though.
I had massive black stripes all over the screen when I tried to play :(
Shame, too! The screenshots look great.

Neat swirly flight. Cute drawings. Weird gameplay, and it's kind of buggy. Click zones were often outside the actual objects. Pretty much impossible to figure out what to do with some things, although managed to please the cloud and the whale. The world feels too large, like I might be missing a lot of relevant things by randomly flying right past them.
Graphics are very pleasant, i love the papery feel of the player.
Whoa, this game is beautiful. I couldn't quite figure out what I needed to do though. I loved the style of everything!
Very natural-feeling game. The player movement was almost hypnotic, and moving everything around without any real purpose (that I could tell) felt very appropriate. Eventually I accidentally put the Whale in the "Right place" and then tried a few of the others, but had much less luck with them. Overall though, very interesting game.
I love the graphics and the player character. Unfortunately the world feels way too large and I could not figure out what to do.
Thanks for the feedback everyone, it's interesting to see how different people view it; looking for a path to an end, or just soaking in the weird atmosphere and so on.
If you do want to put all the pieces in their place here are a few clues:
A Starfish dreams of being amongst real stars,
Line the cloud with Silver,
Only thing this cat wants it some delicious scraps...
No one hears you scream in space, nor can they hear a whale's song.
Earth can be moved when you've finished with the heavens.
Very cool! I love the art style, the way the character moves as if he were paper is great. It's also quite fun flying around the place. Though I completed it, more instructions would've been helpful, but I suppose the vagueness of your goals adds to the feel of the game.

If it runs super fast or slow, or breaks significantly - let me know.
I didn't intend for that to rhyme, I swear.
