Village Bastard - Orangy Tang - 48 Hour Compo Entry

Can't a guy get any peace around here? All this racket is putting you off your chess game. There's nothing for it - you'll just have to drive out the other inhabitants of your village so you can finish your game... alone.

Village Bastard is a puzzle/adventure game where you have to figure out what the villagers like and dislike, then use that to make them leave so you can get some quiet time.

Use the cursor keys to move and 1 to 5 to select an inventory slot. Z and X let you talk or insult people you meet, and C lets you pick up, drop or use items.

I really enjoyed this, it was a fun concept that fit the 'alone' theme well. However I couldn't figure out how to trigger an ending after the chess guy left... If there even was one haha. Great game either way (:

Interesting interpretation of the theme and plausible puzzles. You should create an ending-screen after the chess-guy leaves the village :)

I agree with Jeremias, is quite disturbing not having an end. It could be interpreted as the desperation of loneliness, but probably wont be understood by players.

Apart from that it's solid and fun! I liked it!

Nice game with interesting puzzles. You should really add an ending screen! By the way, good work! :)

Excellent, perfect level of challenge without getting frustrating, and nice twist on the theme where most games seem to have you being alone and looking for people :D

Cool game! I liked the color choice and the puzzles, the village seems unnecessarily big and some of the puzzles could be a bit less annoying (some require you to repeat the same action several times). You could use less keys as well (2 keys for talking?). Still, great job!
