Cool game, new idea and quite tricky to play. Can I ask, I didn't know you were allowed to use freesound.org in the 48 hour compo
sadly i am getting some severe frame-rate issues which make it unplayable.
Well, I aimed to reach the light tower, but when the boat got stuck and it didn't update anymore, I just gave up at 300m away.
I like the idea and simplicity, but... I felt like giving up all the time. It was not so easy to control the boat.
It is a good entry though :)
Really nice graphics and mood. Had no idea how to control the boat though so I gave up :(
Am working on the fps issue now, as that is the main problem. Will also replace the water sample.
Thanx for testing
Hard to control the boat! I love the atmosphere and graphics.
seems like it has potential, but the framerate really turned me off. it looks and sounds nice and the unusual boat controls are intriguing.
I got NaN speed :D
I would have liked mouselook, or to be able to walk around the ship separately to controlling it.
Took a while to get used to the controls, I got to the lighthouse and just went past it, nothing happened, wasn't able to turn around.
The graphics and the simulation are very well done. The sound effects are also very good, but I am pretty sure that freesound.org is out of limits in the compo.
At first I didn't know what to do because the window is bigger than my screen and I couldn't see the controls below; I was clicking everything I could see without any effect. After a short while I think that I got the hang of it and headed towards the lighthouse. Didn't have the patience to reach it, though.
I found it rather relaxing tweaking the tiller and the sail to compensate for variations in the wind. Shame there was no real sensation of speed across the water surface though.

Neat stuff. Runs kind of slow, though. Original idea.
