About
=====
LDKittenRL
Your friend has ventured into a cave without you and is lost and alone! It is
up to you to save him! Battle through hordes of 90s boy band members, people
who work in predatory industries, and other horrors of the deep!
Don't read any of the source files if you care about spoilers. This includes
the ./game file that runs the game.
Requirements
============
You'll need Ruby 1.9.3 and a terminal that supports colors.
Playing
=======
Navigate to the directory in your terminal and run
` ruby ./game `
without quotes. If you're a seasoned Ruby user, you may have a different
command for running Ruby files. Also, Linux/OS X users may simply
` chmod +x ./game `
` ./game `
This will give the file permission to be run, and the second command runs the
file.
Controls
========
y - Northwest
u - Northeast
h - West
j - North
k - South
l - East
b - Southwest
n - Southeast
> - Down stairs
< - Up stairs
U - Use item, follow up with the key in your inventory
g - Pick up item
. - Wait a turn
Tips
====
When you level up your unarmed damage and health go up. Try to avoid insurance
salesmen at early levels. They're pretty mean.
Good luck!

Could you package this game into an exe please ? (can't install anything on my current laptop and don't have ruby on it)

@FredericRP
I can't really package Ruby. It's usually included on operating systems (that aren't Windows I guess). Thanks for attempting to check out the game though :P.
@rawbits
Cool story, bro. Have fun not playing any game ever since they all have dependencies of some sort (DirectX?!).
@FredericRP
Actually, when I get home I'll look into http://ocra.rubyforge.org/
Found my kitten at last. I have to say you've made a quite well done roguelike engine in 48 hours. But really I think it need more enemies and items other than potion :)
Anyway a nice game.
@A-Type - I thought my instructions would work for WIndows, but I guess not. Sorry!
@jagttt Thanks! I was working on content in the last few hours, but I ran out of time before I could get anything really good done.
That was a fun little rogue like, though I must complain about some of the coridors stretching for too long, without a reference point you can't even tell if you are moving. I just held down the button and ran into an insurance salesmen and died. Also, once you hit level 2 you are pretty safe, and once you hit level 3 nothing can really hurt you. There should have been one more "difficult" monster on the final level. Still, very funny and very fun. Good job

I was excited to play this, but unfortunately I'm not able to get it running. I hope you're able to make a browser build or EXE. Good luck with LD!
I like it, I didn't actually find it difficult which is good as I usually die within 2 hours on rogue-likes.
The simple game-play does good for it, installing was a pain and running it was too (I'm on Windows), once it was running all was good.

A competent roguelike, funny character names, and difficult as hell ^_^
