    Populating_Racing - Jilius - 48 Hour Compo Entry

The world just got destroyed by an unknown force, and you were the only survivor! Using your Life Force car, you speed away, bringing life all around you....racing alone, against yourself!

My first entry on any Ludum Dare, and i got to say, it was fun :D
Game made on Game Maker 8.1.
Instructions on how to play and more in-game.

Note: The game contains only 1 small looping SoundTrack so if the music starts to get on your nerves (which it will :\), you can turn it off on the Option menu.

I liked this, and I liked the music, I think it looped well.

I think the main issue with this game is that it takes a full lap until it actually becomes interesting, at which point many players would rather just turn it off.

The plopping and flying of particles as things turn into life is a really nice touch.

Interesting idea for a game, I liked it, even though I don't usually play racing games.

Fun game! I played quite a while until moving to the second track, played that one a few times as well.
I love the idea of you having to beat yourself from the last round. It's also implemented very smoothly.
The music in my taste doesn't match with the game, feels to slow for a racing them, however it connects with the theme.

I really like the idea, but I kept on psyching myself out and turning early. Still really fun. Audio was good but didn't really fit the game.

The race-against-yourself, fits the theme very well, and was a good way to keep track of how much better you were doing than the previous lap. It turns out I'm really bad at this game, but that's no one's fault but mine. Nicely done!

This game is fun and compelling. The unlocks, the ranks, and the constant need to beat my ghost kept me playing. Drifting is also wild fun! Nicely integrated with the theme, though I admit I had no idea what was happening when the car first started shooting out plants (I thought it was leaking).

I also took a while to get started, since I didn't know what the accelerate key was. I only found the controls in the help menu later. It would be fine to put the controls right in the HUD, at least on the first level/first playthrough.

Nice interpretation of the theme. This was a refreshing break after playing a lot of similar games. The RACE AGAINST YOUR BEST LAP THUS FAR ghost is really awesome and the 'population' mechanic is very interesting. Good work!

The concept is very unique and is an interesting use of the theme.
I think the environment coming to life as you attain higher ranks is a nice touch.
While I'm not dedicated enough to S rank everything (I B ranked track 1 and 2 to unlock all the tracks), I appreciate the addition of replay value.

I like the concept about racing against yourself. I did think the soundtrack didn't fit the game at all. The piano thing was somewhat out of place.
