    The Lost Viking - lasseastrup - 48 Hour Compo Entry

    Jisus christ. I did not expect to be done this late. Even though this is my first ever LD I thought I would be more effective

    I finished the game The Lost Viking a bit different than first planned. Since I don't have any prior experience with this I had no idea which parts of the development would take the longest. I know that now. The god damn graphics.

    It ended up being a top-down survival shooter. Unfortunately I didn't have time to polish and balance the different weapons, and I didn't get to add any powerups, but what the hell. It's done so I'm happy.

    Fun game, its got the arena shooter thing right. I seemed to die almost instantly when I got hit by an enemy though, maybe there isnt any temporary invincibility when you get hit? It was cool though. The visuals reminded me of skifree!

    I AGREE WITH THE SKIFREE COMMENT! Yeah, the deaths are pretty much immediate. I upgraded to the bow and DEEEEPLY REGRETTED IT. lol

    Hah, yea I agree the bow is pretty pathetic :P
    I didn't have time to do any proper balancing. As for the tempoary invincibility - yea, I should have done that. The monsters will rip you apart if they get close to you :P

    Definetly a fun game, I have to agree with the previous reviewers about how it reminds them of skifree :D

    I feel that the range of the enemies were a bit too long (as there is no temporary invinsibility after getting hit), but that might just be me: The Audio track was very good, and sound effects cracked me up as they seemed to be completely opposite to the seriousness of the soundtrack.

    Anyway, apparently a cat was selling the weapons. No wonder we got ripped off with some of the weapons :D

    Audio was nice, the graphics were cute, if simple. Gameplay seems pretty solid, and there's quite a bit there - at least, in terms of weapons. The axe actually seems like one of the better weapons, especially given some enemies moving faster than the player/long cooldown between shots.

    A cool little survival game. Axe seemed to be the best weapon, and yes, it seems you die almost instaly after an enemy touches you. Nice work on the audio! :)

    Title screen + intro music rocks ! The difficulty curve is a bit like.. a wall :) But the game is really fun !

    It just didn't feel quite right. There should be a way to heal. Fun anyway.
