Dying Alone - matt - 48 Hour Compo Entry
I think it turned out pretty okay!
Here's what changes I think it needs most:
1) The meteors need to be more fair in how dodgeable they are. Also, I think they might completely disappear for a little while sometimes.
2) Add checkpoint(s). At least one after you return the first engine.
3) Make better music. Because, you know, it's pretty bad.
4) Make a better title.

The random meteors are a problem when one slip-up forces you to redo the entire (slow) thing from the beginning.
It's not even really a problem with "difficulty," as it is with frustration: the otherwise interesting atmosphere is ruined when you're redoing the first 5 minutes of gameplay for the twentieth time.
It actually seems like a pretty good game: I want to see the rest of the game. I really just don't think it's worth it to redo everything up to the point where I last died.
I hope checkpoints were planned, but you didn't have time for them? With the addition of a checkpoint system, I think this would be a fun and interesting platformer.
Too bad i had to redo everything every time i died, but it's an interesting entry.
The biggest issue as others have observed is the difficulty. If the game had checkpoints or lives or something similar, it would be great. As it stands, I quickly got tired of repeating the same bit of level over and over.

Was a bit too difficult, took away from the fun - I had to time the jumps just right. Pretty sweet though.
