    Ego Sum - Nanofi - 48 Hour Compo Entry

    My first ever Ludum Dare game. It's about a small, pixelated thing who wants to be alone. And then the monsters come.

    The graphics were made in MSPaint and the sounds with sfxr.

    Features:
    * A somewhat epic story
    * About 10 minutes of exciting gameplay
    * Seven enemies to defeat (they're in each corner of the pattern)
    * Cute pixel graphics
    * A parallax starfield
    * Only 5 colours!

    Great game. I love the parallax starfield. It's pretty clear what you need to do from the beginning. Not all the fun, but a good game and awesome mood!

    im actually not sure i was doing what i was supposed to, because i wasn't actually "defeating" anything, i was making them chase me around

    There's a hint in the middle :) "you have to lure them together"

    Congrats on your first dare, Nanofi. :)

    As the others have said, try to make sure everybody just understands how to play and what they're doing--especially for small games like LDs. It has some pretty cool mechanics, so you really want everybody to be able to see everything.

    A bit more polish, and you could have been really onto something.

    I gave up after a while - randomly searching map for more enemies to lure together was too boring. If you've added something like compass hint on the edge of the screen, it would be much better.

    Oh, was it that unclear? The gray lines lead to the right places.

    It is simple, but it works in its simplicity - you put everything together very nicely.

    Red dots? I didn't see any colors...

    It would be nice if the phrases near each circle appeared dynamically, instead of being fixed in space. If you visit the circles in the "wrong" order, the phrases don't make much sense.

    Thanks for the game!
