    A Gravekeeper - downsider - 48 Hour Compo Entry

My entry's about a Gravekeeper who enters a crypt one night after hearing stories about a treasure inside.

I worked on this for probably about 8-10 hours overall, and a good portion of that was swapping between ideas. I focused on the art first, then worked on the game itself. It's unfortunate that I couldn't have done much more in terms of gameplay, but at least it looks like I imagined! Unfortunately, there's no sound and it's rather short, but it was still a lot of fun making it. I didn't really have enough time, between sleep, going out for dinner, my Mom's birthday party, and Christmas shopping.

It's WAY too short, with not much gameplay, but whatever, 8 hours of work from the engine up, so, yeah.

Programmed in C++ using SFML2, all assets done in Paint.NET and I think I might've used GIMP at one point. The levels were made in Tiled to save time.

    Source is available here: http://deljam.net/projects/grave_src.zip

..but I'm begging you not to look at it.

The game looks really great, the art is amazing. A little ambient music, would make the mood so much better though, in my opinion, this can't be stressed enough.

Nice graphics. Cool light effect and shaking effect. Some sound would have made a big difference. A bit too easy. Won on first attempt without knowing what I was doing.

Slick platforming, nice graphics, but the lack of music/sound brought it down a bit and I didn't really feel very alone while playing it.

Yeah, unfortunately I had way less time than I thought I was going to have with this. It was originally supposed to be a puzzle-based platformer with a moody feel, with the lighting setup and all. It ended up being a quickly thrown together "game" with the only progression being the treasure and lackluster/very short escape sequence.

I like the graphics a lot!
The movement is also very fun, just walking and jumping feels very right :)
I loved how the crypt starts collapsing.
Too bad it's very short but it was fun to play nonthelesss :)

Yeah I agree on the audio. It neeeeeeeds something. Not innovative at all, but I do agree that the gameplay feels VERY solid. You have a good start. The walk cycle and lighting are both well done.

Nice graphics, including the lighting effects and the dungeon collapsing effects. I liked it a lot. The controls are also pretty smooth. Even if you didn't finish the game as you wanted, I can see that a lot of skill was put here, so I hope you work more on this game in the future :-)

Yeah... apart from the graphics, everything else was kind of dull. I guess that teach us a valuable lesson about Ludum Dare.

The graphics are pretty but it's so dark that it hurts my eyes when I try to look where I'm walking.
