    Can't Even Apologise - J - 48 Hour Compo Entry

[Oh wow, I just discovered that the sounds hurt with headphones. Take them off or something. (They're replaced in the post-competition version.)]

So, you're cursed or something, so that everyone who comes near you dies (and turns to stone or something).

It should be fairly obvious that when one of the other person-things moves inside the big red circle around the character you control, they end up as a solid immoveable block. By being careful about where this happens, you can reach other areas.

    Controls:

    arrow keys, WASD: move.
    R: reset the level.
    enter, space: advance text.
[in post-competition version] escape, backspace: pause/unpause.

WASD works for other keyboard layouts too: QWERTZ, AZERTY, Dvorak, Colemak.

    To quit, close the window.

I couldn't get passed the second room. I tried jumping that thing but without succes.

The second one? Really? You just go near the whatever-it-is to freeze it, then jump on it and then onto the next ledge, and repeat for the next one.

The jumping sounds make my laptop speakers sound like they're popping and scratching, had to stop after the third screen.

I really liked this one. I liked the music, but the rest of the sound kinda made my ears bleed. But aside from that, really good job.

Heh, thanks. I guess I should've tested the sounds on non-cheap speakers at some point... I'll find something to replace them with in the updated version.

I played the compo and post-compo version. I couldn't get through the first cave (that is, 4th screen?). I also had to adjust my laptop brightness as at the beginning of this level I didn't see anything :). Nice concept, overall. Good work!

Yeah, it gets pretty hard from then on - I didn't really have enough ideas for level mechanics, so I ended up with some easy levels and some hard ones, and none in the middle. I might put up a video with solutions at some point for anyone interested.

That was a lot of fun. Liked the art style and sound work. Neat little concept that was very new to me and very enjoyable.

Why are Python developers so against creating binaries? I do not have pygame installed.

The Windows one is a binary; if you're not using Windows, you probably have a package manager with Pygame in it, making installation really easy.
