    The Rescue - JoeDev_net - 48 Hour Compo Entry

The Rescue is basic story driven platformer. I experimented with a couple things to see if they would create a good mood and I feel like they did. I use a color palette of white, grays, and black. I also worked with a tilesize of 8x8. Those two things ended up working nicely together.

I don't really want to give anything away about the actual game, so you will just have to download it.

Made in XNA, so it is currently Windows only, although I am working on porting to other systems using MonoGame.

    Controls
    ========
    Movement - WASD/Arrows
    Jump - Z or Space
    Exit - Escape
    Fullscreen - F

Wonderful game I loved the style!
I'm getting into XNA myself and I 'm sure I'll find the source code helpful

btw. I noticed some white lines come up when jumping, is it usual for XNA to have glitches like that?

sry for being picky grats for the game again ;)

Thanks! I would definitely recommend XNA, it is a great library to use.

It seems a few people get them, but I don't think it is very common. I think it is more of a video driver issue. (Perhaps updating drivers will fix it).

Awesome game! Sets the theme/mood very well. I like the use of color, especially at the very end.

Great game! I was sometimes bored because of so little action. But the story/mood adapted perfectly to the topic.

Fits the theme perfectly, but not very challenging.

Wow, that fit the theme quite well, and I liked the graphics too.

Your really created a nice mood of being alone. At the beginning I loved everything. At the end of the game the music becomes really annoying however. A little more lengthy sound loop might have been awesome.
