Windows | OS/X | Linux (32 bit) [See below for 64b] | Source | Timelapse
You are the last Leech -- the last of your kind. You are alone in enemy lands.
Their numbers are great, and you have no ally. You do have your one ability:
murdering the magically gifted transfers their knowledge to you. The question is --
can you survive?
Controls:
Left mouse button: Cast spell
Right mouse button / scroll wheel: Switch spell
WASD: Move
Spells:
Water - Deals heavy damage in a single projectile
Fire - Creates a damaging stream
Ice - Blocks enemy movement
Lightning - Damages targets and bounces between enemies
Acid - Creates a damaging pool
Enemies
The Hawk, with its ability of flight, can swiftly fly over ice and acid pools.
The Hunger wants to eat your soul, but is very slow
The Guardian, even slower than The Hunger, produces energized projectiles that will seek you out.

EDIT:
Added Mac/Linux build (not extensively tested)
Added timelapse
EDIT2:
Linux 64 bit version is available here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1215621/TLL_Linux_x64.zip
** DEPENDENCIES:
OpenGL, Mesa LibGLU, OpenAL
** There are some weird bugs with the Linux versions, sorry:
1) The game runs at the correct speed, but because I developed it under Windows which ran faster, the game is slower paced on Linux which makes some of the weapons act stranger.
2) There is something extremely weird under Linux with the interaction between the Hawks and the Ice... they kind of twitch around a lot and may disappear completely.

The gameplay works well.
Now it should be improved (as wilefian said, there's nothing to keep the player playing)
In GNU/Linux 64-bit I get the following error message:
./The Last Leech: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.5.3/32/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by ./The Last Leech)
Hey summaky, thanks for trying. I am not a Linux poweruser by any means, but I just added a 64 bit version of the game. The game also depends on OpenGL, GLU, and OpenAL as added above.
you need to include the libstdc++.so.6 you compiled with for the linux versions, you used gcc 4.6 which is not stable on pretty much any distro yet and would severely break most applications if installed system-wide. Windows version works just fine under WINE at least, i got to 10k points and 500 seconds before i just gave up, was pretty easy to stay alive if you just kept circling them.
Very nice gameplay!
Add some more spells levels enemies and such and it will be an amazing game! Good work!
got to close to 4000 points, pretty nice, but i notice a HUGE shift in difficulty when you get the lightning powerup, since you suddenly zap half of the field in 1 shot
When I first watched the intro I thought that he punched the girl :P
Pretty nice idea but unfortunately on this win 7 machine the framerate is really slow.
This was nice.. Liked the enemy variety and the spells were varied and useful.

It would have been nice to have level advancements in the form of short breaks, the problem with the survival forever games is that you need short lullings for the player to rest during
