DESCRIPTION:
Rescue Support is a game wherein you take control of a rescue ship and help out your comrades who are escaping the monster horde.
THE TWIST:
The unique twist I made with this game is that you take the role as support. You have no guns that you can fire but you do get to help out the team by dropping turrets to help with killing enemies, and health packs to regenerate health.
The more people you rescue and bring back to your base, the more money you get for equipment and upgrades.
CONTROLS:
- Control Arrows for movement
- Z for buying and picking up items
SOME NOTES:
- For this game I concentrated on the gameplay and less on graphics and sound.
- Didn't have time to include an endgame. Basically just try to get the most number of kills and saves
SOME TIPS:
- Flinging really helps
- Try to set up a camp with turrets, soldiers and medpack and see your score and money rise

I wish the ship would move a bit faster (perhaps an upgrade?). Nice job
Excellent concept. This is the start of a pretty great, addictive little game.
This is a great little game. The graphics are simple but effective and smooth, the sounds are pretty good. I found the idea really compelling, and the implementation works well too. My only real gripes are that it seems like the turrets/AI isn't good at shooting monsters on the ground, so I had a hard time setting up a base camp as you suggested. But I played the game for a good while and really enjoyed it. It's easy to imagine all the cool places this game could go!
@recursor, yes. That was part of my original plan, you can upgrade your ship like getting faster movement, higher health etc.
@Yeah, the turrets could really use a better AI. That was only a rough implementation and I'm planning to improve it in the future.
Thanks to all those who left their comments. Keep em coming!
Nice gameplay with a lot of potential. Really could benefit from a level structure, where maybe you have to save a certain number of people before another number dies?
Very cool. I can see a lot coming of this, with some graphical work and some more variety. I did have problems with turrets not firing sometimes, and I think a wave/level system would make the whole experience a bit more structured (although perhaps less frantic :D)
Keep at this!
Ah yes. A wave system would be good. it would give you some time to prepare. I'd keep that in mind. Thanks!
The sound of gunfire got a little repetitive after some time. Other than that this is a great play for those who enjoy flinging people to safety.
Good idea, pretty good execution. One of the more original yet completely playable entries. With some more polish and levels it could be quite good game (in normal terms, not just ludum dare)
This is a good game, well done. Somehow I think it even would be much better with real levels and without endless mode. And I often just cannot rescue the little blue guys, so the "Died" counter doesn't make much sense in this case, as they get constantly respawned. (Ditto for the "Killed".)
Other than that, great achievement, try to make a full game out of it!
This has lots of potential, it's a little gameplay gem. Besides all the points that have been already stated, I would like to add:
Please add a button button to pick up, picking up my towers instead of the dudes was kind of annoying. But otherwise a really nice entry :-)
I like the ingame instructions and it is a nice twist and should be expanded on.

As I've mentioned, it has a lot of potential
