    Eggscape - Make A Game - Jam Entry

    Make A Game presents: "Eggscape"

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    "Oh, I didn't see you there, crushing my path for survival and my dreams of becoming a famous paleontologist.

    Do you know how hard it was to find this egg? And how lucky I am that these debris are falling in such a coincidental position that I can climb some of them? It's like someone is throwing them with exact precision. But I don't have time to think about it, actually I can't do much more than panic and run around, waiting for more debris to fall."


    We're Make A Game and Eggscape is our entry for Ludum Dare 21's Jam.

    This wasn't just our first time competing at Ludum Dare, it was our first time working with flash!

    How To Play

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    You don't control the character, you control the falling debris.
    He can only climb the height of one block.
    He also doesn't climb down.
    And if he gets eaten, it's game over, man.

    LEFT and RIGHT to move
    UP to rotate
    DOWN to place
    ESC or P to pause

    Things to add post submission:

    - Treasures!
    - More modes!
    - Gameplay Tweaks!
    - Fix Character random suicidal behavior! (especially with line piece)

    Nice graphics, specially the character.
    It wasn't obvious at first why the pieces sometimes disappeared.

    Really liked it! Great graphics. Good gameplay. I was a bit confused at the start because I was thinking of Tetris "Am I the monster trying to get the egg back?". Figured it out after the first death. ;) Great work!!!

    Nice concept! I had fun! However I didn't need to use my brain much - there was almost always an obvious thing to do.

    Yeah, we didn't have time to include multiple game modes and treasures.

    Treasures would change the way you play it, if you were playing for the best score, you'd have to place the pieces in order to be at the treasure height and catch it.

    Besides that, some of stuff isn't working like we planned to. Still, we're glad the fun factor is still present. :)

    Also, there's a point multiplier for each block climbed in succession, but the Score feedback is missing.

    Nice take on tetris. The sound was somewhat delayed and the game is quite difficult.
