Escape (what an original name) - Marin - 48 Hour Competition Entry
HTML5 (you need the sound to understand the game) | Source | Timelapse | Spoiler screenshot
YOU NEED THE SOUND to understand the game, turn the speakers on ;)
It's a HTML5 game. If something doesn't work, or works badly (no sound, game too fast, game too slow...), please report it (I tested only with Chrome and Firefox, without hardware acceleration)!
This is my first Ludum Dare.
== Cool quotes ==
"OMG I won, it was epic..." -- geekshadow about the ending
"Lol, that's priceless" -- PaulZ about the ending
"Hey, check my humble, totally awesome and super-funny HTML5 game!" -- Marin spamming LD's IRC channel about the ending
"I can't even get out of the first room." -- wademcgillis before the ending

Very funny - cute demo. Never mass release - you're likely to get death threats.
Odd, maybe like-able, but it lacks an objective, direction, i do not know what to do. Keep working anyway, maybe if it was any longer..
@maxx
The objective is: escaping.
The direction is: finding something to escape.
I couldn't get past the first room, so if there was some humor past there I didn't see it. The music was incredibly annoying in my opinion.

Dammit... is this one of those "Do you know how many [insert an occupation] does it take to screw a lightbulb?" If not, I'm in a need for a walkthrough. ;/

That was...interesting.
But I must point out that you're only supposed to use music that you've created.
LOL @ ending >_> I guess the music earns this Humor points? It's a bit impossible without the spoiler though.
> But I must point out that you're only supposed to use music that you've created.
I've created it during the Ludum Dare (you can see Audacity in the timelapse) :) .
Well, it's funny, I'll give it that.
Seriously, though, this gameplay is horrendous. Even with the supposed "spoiler" it took me about five minutes to make anything happen. When it did, I couldn't tell why it hadn't.
HTML5 is a really bad platform for game dev, IMO, ESPECIALLY Ludum dare and like triply so for this game.
I don't think any browser is 100% compliant yet and even if one were, I don't want to upgrade just for that. So, when I'm moving around a box not seeing anything happening, how do I even know it isn't just an HTML5 issue??

Welp, I think I've tried everything from jumping at walls to climbing and standing on all the platforms to clicking the light and pressing all the normal control keys. No idea what to do.
