The Cloud of Very Angry Electrons - Erik McClure - 48 Hour Competition Entry
The game is barely playable, but in essence you must gather resources from a planet surrounded by flying electrons that attack you, in order to build a spaceship to escape. When you reach 10000 ore, you win. If your base dies, you lose. Buildings require power in order to be constructed. Deflectors DO NOT WORK.

I never got building collision to work, sadly. It's a little more fun if you pretend you can't place buildings on top of each other, but alas, things did not go well.
It's really innovative gameplay; it's a shame it's not more complete. I thought the attackers were too small and random to really dodge them. I liked moving a planet though :). On the whole, the game just didn't feel very interactive. You have no feedback on the power system (that I could see) and there wasn't much room for strategy that I saw. The attackers seemed to bother me the least when I just spun the planet in one direction.
I'm thinking of adapting some of the gameplay elements for a more complete game sometime in the future. I wanted to put in a line that designated what a building was receiving power from, but never had time. For that matter your relays can get blown up and the buildings will still function despite technically not being powered.
Seems like it could be a cool idea if developed further, but I'm not sure it's complete enough to be able to tell.
It's a shame the game is unfinished. As is it now, I just placed the mines and waited until I reached 10,000 ore. I had no idea that I could move the planet until I read the comments.

Interesting approach, but I didn't get who was the attackers. I just placed a mine on top of other, because they don't take space. Fixing that, it would make a great game.
