    Escape Infinity - thatshelby - 48 Hour Competition Entry

    Escape the black chomper.

    (hint: this is an endless game. it took me FOREVER to test it.)

    I liked this a lot. Some of the enemies were a bit hard to deal with, but the concept was very fun and the health made it fairly forgiving, if not too much ("Oh I took too much damage early on maybe I should just kill myself"). Loved the menu style

    Haha, nice game. Love the big black chompy thing and your (small) humor style. Showing health by bullet color was also clever. I liked that almost everything was destructible too. Solid LD game!

    Solid, fun, a little punishing at times, but some nice work all the same. I found the controls a bit fiddly at times, but that may have been my computer.

    mys best is 4850 ! The game was fun... The control and escape feeling would be easier if you could slide on the block and not only freeze when you are near an entrance

    6800 on my first attempt, which was ended with green health due to getting tangled up on a wall. Less on my second. Tweaks could include slightly faster ship movement and sliding on walls, like Ben said. Maybe also a charge shot that gets built up while you don't fire, so you can save up for a large single-hit bullet instead of firing continuously all the time. Could add an extra sense of skill and elegance to playing, basically ducking forward between oncoming bullets and delivering a well-placed punch to kill the opponent.

    Pretty fun little shmuppy thing. Solid gameplay, nice clean visuals. The small window meant there was lots of opportunity to click outside it, but that didn't seem to be an issue since I keep the mouse button held down all the time. My only complaint is that the enemy shots moved so fast that avoiding them often felt like more luck than skill.
