WINDOWS USERS:
IF YOU DON'T HAVE RUBY INSTALLED:
PLEASE read the readme! It will tell you everything you need to do.
IF YOU HAVE RUBY INSTALLED:
You will need the gems "chingu" and "gosu". If you have them installed, download the source package! It's smaller.
LINUX AND OS/X USERS:
I don't have a package for you, but it should theoretically work all the same! Install Ruby, the gems "chingu" and "gosu", and you should be set! I hope that's not too inconvenient :(
UPDATE:
Windows users, the install.bat file does create shortcuts on your system, so the claims in the readme file aren't completely accurate. That should be it, though! :P

This is fantastic. I enjoyed it. It had character progression and foreshadowing and everything!
Two minor issues:
1. I would have preferred keyboard controls, as some of the screens required precise movement.
2. the installer.bat _does_ make changes to the system - it creates some start menu shortcuts, and I think I saw it making some other system changes but it scrolled past too quickly. However, I'm still very happy that you made it so easy for me to get the game running.
Odd, it shouldn't create those shortcuts. I'll take a look this afternoon.
Quite innovative, fun, a bit hard - but not too hard.
The Ubuntu howto:
sudo apt-get install g++ libgl1-mesa-dev libpango1.0-dev libboost-dev libsdl-mixer1.2-dev libsdl-ttf2.0-dev ruby1.8-dev rubygems
sudo gem install chingu gosu
I went through with the installation but the game will not run on my system - win7 64 bit.
I also run win7 64bit, works fine for me. Could you possibly run run.bat from command line, so that the window doesn't close before you can see the error output?
A solid entry overall, works for me on win7 64bit. The level of challenge is nice, but the mouse-based controls are a bit frustrating, like localcoder already pointed out. Liked how the rainbow beam makes bits of the world colorful, and how you had to retrieve the arms first (ever read Problem Sleuth?)
Good humor, amazing music. The music really made a difference.

Bringing color to the world was a nice twist.
It felt like a solid game.
"wisecracking minions is the last thing I need"
hehe
On the first and subsequent runs of install.bat I got:
ERROR: Could not find a valid gem 'gosu' (>= 0) in any repository
Sorry!
Endurion: What platform? I assume windows.
Hmm, perhaps in the future I should bundle gosu and chingu with the distribution...

Took two runs of install-bat to go through (intentional?), but ran fine otherwise. Liked the humour and every new game screen had my mind screaming "oh what fresh new hell is this?" to my great amusement. Thank you.
