    Summon heroes to go home - Gornova - Competition Entry

    "It's dangeorous to go Alone! Take this!"

    Old mand give yoy a wand to save the world (again), but you decided to get money instead!
    So summon heroes, fight monsters, get money and buy a ticket to trip home!

    Select heroes and guide them into dungeon!

    - Use mouse to select heroes from bottom bar,
    - Set target for heroes path,
    - Every summed heroes costs mana and mana is limited.. choose carefully,

    Have fun!

    I'm not sure what I'm doing here. I mean, I click on the little guys and I can tell them where to go, but I'm not entirely sure what's going on. The ninja guy cuts the number in half? Reduces by two? The wizard guy gets you mana back. What use is the warrior? I mean, perhaps I'm just dumb, but I found that if I just clicked all three once each and then threw another ninja guy into the mix suddenly I won the game and I don't even know how or why.

    Still, I like the graphics and the premise is probably better than my understanding of it. I just feel completely baffled.

    This game should belong in the jam and not the compo. The sprites clearly comes from Desktop Defenders. Some parts of the gameplay is similar too.

    Rule number 2 of Ludum dare: All game code and content must be created within the 48 hours.
    Also For Jam games, you are free to use whatever artwork or content you like (preferably something you have the legal rights to), but you must accept all responsibility for its use.

    Well didn't rate because of gamemakingdude's comment, but I did play, and I must say I'm also a bit confused. I tried to select a path, but the heroes always seemed to go on a fixed trajectory. So all I did was... click on the heroes and watch them progress.

    Seems like there's an interesting concept here, with a bit more player control over the heroes it would be very cool.

    Hello everyone and thanks for comments!
    First game is all about summon heroes that immediately go for treasure on center of the dungeon.

    First thing I need is a tutorial explain gameplay!

    @Cirrial: I agree interface sucks, need major improvements and I'm working on it. First point could be have a floating panel on hero selection to see thier hit points and attack values.

    @gamemakingdude : can I change my game to be on the jam?

    @Grungi Ankhfire: you can select heroes and change their path

    @Dark Acre Jack: thanks, like in LD19, what i need is a decente interface between player and heroes :D

    I palyed the game, I figured it out.. I can't rate it though because of the graphics.. so I;ll rate other stuff :)

    It's a start for a rpg startegy style game.. it is not too hard with the current level setting but it could use better instructions and explanation of the strengths and weakness of each character.

    Looks heavily inspired by Desktop Dungeons. The control is severely holding the gameplay back.
    Looks like to attack you have to make the hero walk through the monster (ie place the target behind the monster).

    I left graphics N/A due to the tileset issue, but rated the rest...

    Looks like an interesting idea, maybe if it was clear which heroes were good against which enemies it would help and maybe adding an element of defense too perhaps?

    Well done on finishing something!
