This is my entry. Its not finished but its sort of playable.
Arrow keys to move, A and D to turn the turret and W to fire.
There's a bug whereby the game crashes if you shoot the tree on the other side of the river. So don't do that :P
I've included source and Windows exe versions. The source version requires Python 2.7, Pygame and PyOpenGL.

Heheh, amusing.
It played really well. Some sounds would have added a lot, though.
Also, the game quit every time I blasted the first tree after the water.
I loved the control scheme. I may have experienced it a few times before, but having two separate "axis" controls for turret and tank is so intuitive and it works really well. Nice work :)
I agree with the others too, the intro was awesome :P And my game *also* crashes on that one tree. Occlusion/transparency code for the water, perhaps? Doesn't detract from the overall experience at all, though.
This game is amazing. I laughed out loud at the opening. The tank controls are a little confusing at first but once you get used to them they're amazing. I love it. Well done!
Wow, the setup was really great. I LOL'd.
The boss, on the other hand... well, no health bar for me should have been my first clue.
Restarting at the start was ouch.
Otherwise a really funny take on the theme. Good work!

I love the intro. The game itself looks also very polished. The only problem for me is the cannon control with the keys. And of course the boss killed me :(

Maybe a checkpoint just before the boss might have been cool. I didn't have the courage to go through it the third time round.
Other than that, it's awesome. :)
