Caveman Eric: Dark Times - Bezza - Competition Entry
Here, for my first Ludum Dare I present to you, my first ever platformer; Caveman Eric: Dark Times. A simple platformer with a silly plot where you have to discover fire and escape.
Note: You can use either the directional keys or WASD for movement.
I'll host the files on MegaUpload in .rar files. If thats no good, please give me a shout.
Made with XNA.
P.S Sometimes it's better to take it slow. Other times it's better to take a leap of faith. ;)

It was alright, however, I got quickly frustrated by the fact that when I die more than 3 times, I have to start from the very start again. thristhart makes a very good point about that.
Apart form that, the game was enjoyable. Good job! I look forward to seeing what you can do in future LD's!
Nice game :)
I like the expanding/contracting light circle. But some spikes are nastily placed for the speedy movement.

It's a good game with an amusing premise, but it's major failing, is, well..
I suggest you read this article (well, review): http://www.vectorstorm.org/2010/01/12/vvvvvv/
In the section, "Dying is fun!" it explains my main issue with this game. To wit: Make dying less frustrating and the game can be much more entertaining while keeping the same level of difficulty. In fact, if you take out the lives system, I would enjoy this a lot more.
Good job, otherwise!
