Yeah, I really felt the time pressure on this one. In my post-Ludum update I'll put more tutorial in. For what it's worth, 1234 or QWER are spell buttons.
Pretty sure contest rules says you can't use existing materials, and Nyancat is absolutely copyrighted.
Cool concept and I also like the random level generation.
I would prefer it if combat was a bit slower - everything seemed to die in less than two seconds!
I could pass the first 8 or 9 levels without any fight at all; not very fun. Then tried again from the start and the first fight was a complete lost for me. Not very intuitive for me :'( The sound effects were also somewhat annoying.
I like how much you managed to cram into this LD in the amount of time allotted. You had some really good ideas with the battle options and I can see where you were going with them. I like it that poison is actually useful here!
At first I was "The brooding, it burns!"
But then I was "Nyan!?"
Wonderful!
I liked the amount of work you put in the active battles. Sadly, all that work goes to waste because your game does not have an FPS limiter. I could win the game by simply mashing the "1" button in every battle, and I wouldn't realize how close or how easily those battles were. Add some sleep time to your combat update functions.
That also applies to the "walking state" - the hardest thing in this game was hitting those damn stairs :-(
That said, thanks for the game, and thanks for rating so many games :-D
I had to lose a few times while mashing my keyboard to find out how to fight. The movement was... different and trying to hit the stairs was a little difficult.
as im finding with alot of games they seem to run far too fast on my machine (cant control the character) like the game loop is just running as fast as possible instead of capping it kind of thing..like the gfx tho :)
man, this ran really fast :\
I managed to beat it, but i have no idea what i was doing in the battles... just mashing qwer.
Graphics are nice, though.
Nice game. I seemed to have the opposite problem to everyone else: it was only running at ~5 fps on my system for some reason.
This is a really bad approach in cloning of Dungeons of Dredmore...

Could not get past first enemy, I think you need more directions on how to play. When the fight starts he just blasts me a few times really quick and I'm dead. Nothing I do seems to attack him.
I like the random generation.
