Mountain - voxel - 48 Hour Compo Entry
Had to cut this a little short, have a job interview in the morning.
Game is supposed to be a little more difficult than it is, so don't cry if you die, wuss. You're supposed to die. It makes it easier for the next person that plays, even if that person is you.
*Warning*
This game contains some 'player generated content' which is likely to be crude, abusive and poorly spelt. It'll probably be aimed at me and the game, but it might potentially offend you too.

Easily my favorite game so far. The graphics seemed a little wonky and the music was very dull, but I liked the look of the mountain, and the metagame behind it was very cool and impressive for the 48 hours. Kudos to you! :)
Sorry about the music, it was a last second late night Sunvox pattern slowed down a lot and slapped on without any real loving care. I'll see if I can make something a bit more interesting and tighten up the graphics for a post compo version. Glad people are liking it <3
yeah I really like the metagame behind this one, after I read "Dont even get near the points" as I smiled and moved on.
Not really my cup of tea but I like the idea. I know it's intentional but most of the time you don't see a thing.
I really liked this concept. When I realized they were cranes, I nearly wept. Great work.
I thought this was a great game until I figured out not only the death left message, but also light! This is the most clever thing I've seen in this LD. Light is both friend and foe. Brillant.
Great concept!
But it was a little laggy. Maybe you should add some fog or shorten the clipping distance to make it more playable on slower computers.
And there should be lock cursor or something like that to make sure you don't mouse off of the screen. And maybe the character movement could've been smoother, but that's just me being picky!
Nice grey art style and good idea!
Innovation points for the score/death/win tracker on your page. This was a nice little journey.
I am immensely saddened by this entry. Not because of its quality - it's a great game!
No, I'm sad because I came up with this idea two years ago and never made it. Kudos to you, sir, for doing it even better than I imagined!
Very cool idea, but my FPS was so crap I had trouble playing. Also I'm not sure if the lighting was correct or not, but mostly I could only see black. And for some reason the particle effects of the other players' bodies was just eating my processor (whenever I looked at it). But all that being said this is a very cool concept.
SPOILER! I guess. Sort of.
Great game, thanks to everyone's deaths, the path was well lit except for a stretch before the final climb. I was able to make it to the top on my first try, I had to go really slow for that last hill. But now that I'm at the top, nothing happens... the lights turn on, the thing at the top turns gold (I won't extra-spoil it by saying what it is), then... nothing. At this point, am I suppose to just kill myself? Awesome game by the way. I've played Demon Souls, and the messages there are pretty pointless. Here, the light really makes a difference and you really feel that you succeed only because others died.
SPOILER END
Yeah sorry JustJohn I didn't have time to make more of an ending than that. Only the last 100 deaths should be visible, which was supposed to stop the game getting 'too' easy, but i guess 100 is too many

I LOVE this game! It was so awesome to walk down a pathway and see all of these lights and text saying: "Ahh!! Not this way!!"
I usually hate meta-gaming, but this was really charming. You've got my vote!
