Logo Contest 2011
Hi, we’ve had various Ludum Dare logos over the years, but I think it’s time we got something new and shiny!
So we’re doing a contest! Make your Ludum Dare logo and enter it. Be sure to include a link to a hi-res version of the logo. All logos submitted will be considered as public domain gifts to the community.
The winner of the contest will get the honor of seeing the logo used to help promote Ludum Dare!
The contest begins NOW and ends Jan 31th.
(Judging will be decided somehow, probably a combination of public vote and what I like. We suggest linking to a 2000px wide image, or something like that. To make the logo useful, it should have transparency, so it can be placed on various types of backgrounds. If you want to enter multiple logos, just create an extra user account.)
2 Colour, Modern - Mhaine - Competition Entry
I like modern designs more than most descriptive ones. So there it is, a modern submission for you.
It should be easy to remove the half shown digits should you think they are obsolete. Don't be afraid to tell me if you have a suggestion.

I keep expecting it to animate, with the background slowly blurring and receding while the main text zooms in ever so slightly. Probably following one of those "zwhummmmm" jingle noises that news networks tend to have... or maybe a 60 Minutes-like tick-tock loop is heard while it animates, for a few seconds before cutting to the next segment/interview/timelapse.
Very clean and stylish looking, but not sure it'd work too well as a banner-style website logo (would need a lot of vertical trimming?). Would look very good on a mug, or maybe a t-shirt, though.
Very classy! Could do with a little rejigging if it gets chosen, but it's a nice concept.
Feels like part of an animation in a documentary or something :)
The clock is cut off at the top and bottom. I'm assuming you have a version with the complete clock face?
I don't like the join of the L and D, makes it hard to read. Also hard to read at small sizes.
Looks very polished, but it looks more like a cover sheet or motion graphics bumper than a logo.
Nice concept - would work well for a corporate logo. Doesn't really feel appropriate for LD48's "feel", but wonderful design work.

Classy! I like it.
