    Extreme Fishing now for Android!

    Extreme Fishing is now released for Android on Google Play! This is my first game since I decided to go full indie in January. Extreme Fishing was originally created for Mini Ludum Dare #24 by me and João Zanini. This new version for Android has new content, better gameplay, improved controls for mobile and Google Play integration. Challenge your friends on the leaderboards and conquer the achievements! It’s also free, so download it right now for your Android smartphones!

    Back in February, I took part in my first (mini) Ludum Dare. I created a game called “fishslap” which I was quite happy with. Simple, entertaining and fun… that was my philosophy.

    I spent the next few months reworking an ActionScript3 version, then an ActionScript3 mobile version – but I found that when I compiled it to iPhone performance was not good! In the end, I came up with something “acceptable”, but every single line of code, every graphic, every effect had to be painfully scrutinised in order to get a reasonable frame-rate.

    So I bit the bullet… purchased a cheap Mac, and got into Corona SDK. Corona SDK is highly recommended! The language, Lua, has a lot of similarities to ActionScript… and performance is BLITZING!

    Just a couple of days ago my final, and by far best version, of fishslap was accepted into the (Apple) App Store! WOOHOOOO! :)

    I still find it amazing that this game originally appeared from 48 hours work, with such competition limitations as “2 colours”, “1 button”, “fishing” and “reverse”(?) . This made me think of fishing, but from the fishes point of view. It motivated me to save up for equipment and software and get into mobile development, which (early days) I’m loving!

    Hoping to be a part of LD21 :)

    hay guyz i heard about ld from a friend and i joined cus i really like 3D games and wanted to be part of the cool thing that i heard about called LD.

    my name is Anthony Paleur but everyone called me ant ergo my user name.

    pls could someone explain LD a little to me thx a bunch sry iof i dont know what this is i am only about 14 years old but i started school 2 years late so i am stuck with all these 12 year old anyong people i really hate them are there any on here…well stupid question this is the interwebz right? lol anyway hope to be part of this soon.

    Chess Without Turns

    I choked during last MiniLD, but I’ve been secretly working on this one for TigSource VS compo. Thanks to Chris (author of player.IO) I was able to create a chess game that has no concept of turns. It’s more of a gimmick than a game, but I uploaded it to Kongregate and I hope that at least some people would play that, so it can get some badges. Anyways, there’s not much to say since it’s still good old boring chess, but if you want to find out, just try it out!

    Halifax 1917 is back!

    Hi folks,

    Here’s the latest build of the game :

    It is a test level, for development purposes. No fire in this version, no time limit. But there is a usable ladder, water depletion, a water bottle pickup, and a destructible DOOR!

    Currently I didn’t add an axe to the player, but you can mimic hitting the door by pressing SPACE. You can do this from anywhere on the stage… will be fixed soon :)

    CouchJumper stopped, but I made another game…

    I found some game-breaking glitches in CouchJumper, and as I don’t have enough time to rewrite the physics code for the 8th time, I just hacked together a small game called Climber. (Yes, I know this is 13 days after the MiniLD ended)

    You’re a small square that needs to survive the onslaught of fishy things. Use just the arrow keys.

    And as I don’t seem to be able to submit this to the MiniLD page anymore, here’s a download link:

    What with school and some other things that have popped up recently, I (for the second month in a row) did not finish my MiniLD entry. However, I am a HUGE fan of the concept I came up with! Sometime down the road, I will complete this project and remove all references to Tetris so I can legally release it. :]

    I made a terrible game about the life of a fish that must avoid an evil red thing. After all, all fish must avoid evil red things, right?

    Fishing

    Limitations:
    2 colors
    Game Must end in 60 seconds

    Rules:
    Game must be code complete in the first 3 hours, if not, must start over. NO CODING AFTER THAT.
