Well, there's not much to say. It's a command line driven text maze. Would be even more minimal without the start screen ;)

Hamumu says ...

I really can't rate this one high... nothing more annoying than the combination of controlling with UDLR instead of arrow keys, and having to hit enter after each letter! I didn't even stick with it long enough to see what would happen if I reached the exit. I'm sorry, I just couldn't! It is minimal, though.

A simple maze game. Like Hamumu said, the controls are pretty bad. I used the stringing of multiple commands, but why do I have to input "r r r d" instead of "rrrd"? that just makes it a tad more annoying. Also, for a simple maze game, I was expecting at least random generated mazes. :-/
The fact that your UI was defined by these ".dis" files is pretty cool though, although obviously as a purely technical aspect.
The ice cream looks good.

Hamumu and Pekuja have it exactly right.

GBGames says ...

Very retro. Very minimal. I laughed at the blank list of commands when you typed "help". I hope that was intentional because I rated you on humor just for that. B-)

It was a bit tedious, and it would have been nicer if I could just hit the keys. Better yet, use HJKL (for people used to vi and NetHack) or WASD. And better yet, make the @ sign the avatar instead of the goal. Even after reading the instructions and thinking to myself that it seemed backwards from games like NetHack, I still found myself trying to move IT instead of the ~.

I thought it was a decent game, but it would have been better with random mazes.

Surrealix says ...

Was certainly minimal, also rather annoying as others have pointed out.

SethR says ...

Hmm.. please take these game controls back to the the 70's where they belong! What next for LD12, punch cards for input? ;) Congrats on finishing the game though.

Devon says ...

Couldn't make u make the ~ go up so I gave up. Very retro though, congrats :).

jovoc says ...

didn't work for me.

Simple maze

Well my pathethic attempt was finished. The actual game was decided in the last two hours. :P

There are some instructions in the game, and more detailed in the added readme file. Also to compile the source code, compile the only cpp file, it should work anywhere as I only used standard C++ lib’s.

source code

ubuntu bin

Ill change the links, I momentarily couldn’t access my usual FTP server.

Keep it simple. Thats the plan. All of it. :P

Been also thinking about making te game in the console, but that will take extra creativity to make it fun. It be something diferent. Just wanna finish this time, doesn’t matter how.

Thats my moto for the upcomming competition. That and enthusiasm will have to push me up a steap hill, to finish the game. But for now, all i can do is vote and hope for a good theme.

Good luck to all

:D
