Please, dear ladies and gentlemen, if you plan to use WASD offer the choice to use arrows instead.
And if you cannot do that because you need both arrows and WASD, please offer the choice to remap the keys.
We are not all using QWERTY kb layouts.
Every LD, it is a remaining problem. Thanks for your understanding An AZERTY user
Dear LD Linux users,
now you can play King Green’s tiny failures ! You can enjoy his last days before the Queen chops his head off, of course if the maid has not chopped her head off before or their son been eaten by some loose wolf.
Yeah, now you can enjoy the delicious last days of the failed Royal Green Family on your linux (ubuntu, fedora, arch , whatever).
Isn’it a good news ?
Well in fact 90% done since there aren’t any sounds or music in this version.
What a run ! I hope everything went well for you too !
And I am happy this time to have taken the time to share my experience. It was one of my goals for this Ludum dare as well
Now, regarding the game… Well like all the LD projects I have seen, it is quite original.
It’s a crossover between a rogue-like, a wargame and chu-chu rockets ( i’m kidding ). It is not so hard to play. But it needs to think first.
I hope you’ll enjoy these tiny failures (the name of the game:) )
… It is now time for me to act like a proud citizen of our (very) proud French Nation in order to elect our new Super-President to make sure France, like every modern country we will not fail until the next big segfault happens !
Be prepared, Roosters are going to take the lead to get first into the big hard concrete wall that is just in front of us.
All this, of course , using our french super glamour Rooster powers !
… Well,now I really should go…
ok, I have finished the first draft of the characters set.
If I have time at the end I will make them a little bit like prettier.
I wanted to make them look a bit like what Taro Miura did in the Tiny King (http://www.kaiseisha.net/staging/country/title/704.html?country=10)
My wolf is terrible, I hope he won’t feell bad. Maybe munching a guard or two will help him be happy ?
Since I started to make games on my own, thanks to a close friend of mine, I have started to use inkscape.
I cannot say how much time I have won, prototyping all my apps in this super open & free software.
And if you want to try inkscape with a very good tutorial : go there : http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/ChrisHildenbrand/20111015/8669/2D_Game_Art_for_Programmers__part_1.php
So here is my WIP using inkscape.
…I planned a gentle 1 hour nap and ended up sleeping a full 5 hours…
But I feel less tense and more relaxed. I did some taiji practice as well to get back to life more fully.
Now, I can make my king run before his queen !
Before I go to bed, here is my timelapse : LD#23 whitetigle timelapse
(no, no, no, not the King)
This kind of jokes helps me remember that I need some sleep, because 1 hour and a half since Thursday Morning seems a little bit low…
So, here is the very first photo of his royal highness, the King Green ! Hail to the king baby ( I definitely need some sleep. )
See you in a little while guys !
I am sure many of you are currently listening to fabulous music.
But if you feel inclined to try something (perhaps) new, you can try this : http://floex.cz/en/discography.html.
It’s the complete discography of the composer of Machinarium soundtrack.
It’s quite relax and won’t interrupt your thoughts while you’re coding
It was 3 o’clock when I started this morning (I live in France).
Since then I have come with a quite complete gamedesign and I am currently making my way through the code.
Things seems to go quite smooth, I hope everything will remain easy
I hope things are easy for you too and you will achieve great games !
