Massive geek and nerd, I work for Mindcandy in London! Mostly do AS3 programming but also a bit of Java and Unity! I'm in to all things Japanese and i love making games almost as much as i do playing them!

The end.
Ahh the end! Was so rushed towards the end but i guess this was my first time and i was away for half the weekend as well so i know what to do /not to do next time. Overall i’m really happy with it I had lots of ideas i didn’t get to implement such as multiple levels and parralax and i really wanted to add more giant computer graphics to bring the world to life but i was really pleased with the animations and sound effects! Looking forward to trying everyone elses games, but that will be after a very long sleep
Day two…
Ok so didnt get much done yesterday, as it was my friends Birthday, but i managed to get my main characters animation walk cycle drawn up in flash. My laptop is well and truly struggling with flash tho it’s taking me around 3 seconds to switch between frames which makes even the simpest animations a nightmare! I’m sat in starbucks now working on the Unit Tester enemies which are much simpler and hopefully by the time i get home i will have a few more of the graphics worked in. I’m still not confident with my ideas for programming related minigame challenges with the remaining tiem i’ve got so i might just make the mechanics moree to do with collecting bits of the computer and just avoiding unit tests! I’m pretty hungover today (last night was 50p for shots D:) and i’ve had about 8 hours sleep in the last 48 hours so this is gonne be tough! I leave you with the star of my game Buug!
Ok so this is version one, as terrible as it looks it has the two mechanics of a timer (blue bar) and a bug counter (green bar) the idea being you need to create enough bugs to break the game before the time runs out and the programmer fixes the bugs. I’ve got the level progression and models set up now. The idea is to launch little minigames from the components (White box) which will let you generate bugs in different variables, equations and functions. Taking a break from the coding side for now to design the graphics and the bug inducing minigames
.
The tiny world of Bugs
Ok so i’ve decided to make game where the tiny world is the inside of a computer and you are a tiny bug running around trying to break the poor programmers code! I was originally gonna do black n white hand drawn art but i really wanna use lots of green now, so that will take up most of the time! Ive already got a little dude running around, i just need to start coding the buggable components, and deciding how they work! Soo tired now i checked the result at 3am and couldnt get back to sleep!
May the odds be ever in my favor
Hey There,
First time here! I’ve been meaning to give this a go for a couple of years now but i always forget! I’m actually travelling all weekend but i’m still determined to have a go at this! I’m planning to do all of the coding in Flash and do a mixture of hand drawn and flash graphics which i’ll be able to do at various points during my travels! No idea what it’s going to end up like could be terrible, could be not so terrible! But i can’t wait til it starts! Also downloaded Otomata for my phone so i’m gonna try creating some sound on the go too! i reckon i have about 4 hours of programming sat morning to lay the groundwork then the rest of saturday i will be on the move so it will be doodling/making sounds whenever i get the chance then back coding from midday onwards on sunday. Bring it on!
