Aftermath Report
This Ludum dare was a difficult one for me, I found that I was having issues with motivation mainly due to not having a quiet place to work and the fact that my work space is extremely cramped (Thankfully myself and my Fiancee and looking for a house).
The first game Idea was a space RTS in which you had to dominate the galaxy, to do this you would take over a planet which would in turn generate you a new ship, Think starcraft on a very basic scale.
I ended up giving up on this idea as I couldn’t not find the drive to complete it. As I still wanted to participate I made the game which is featured here. The idea being that you are in a snow globe and as you move around and eventually zoom out its meant to signify the tiny world from within a snow globe setting.
Perhaps I could have put some better game play elements into it. I really do wish I could draw, with the amount of great Ideas that I’ve tried doing in the past and eventually realizing that its just not possible without being able to create something in Photoshop, by hand etc. Either way.
I look forward to playing everyone’s games.
See you all in 3 months for LD24.

Nearly.
Looks like I’ve got 22 hours left and I’m almost finished surprisingly. The game has taken shape exactly how I wanted it to.
Although their is not much too it in terms of gameplay I feel that it fits the theme well.
I think I might attempt to make some music for it.
Artistic Talent
The amount of artistic talent on this site is amazing, I get so jelous seeing how everyone can draw fantastic images using mostly pixel art(A skill I could only wish I had)..
I’ve got a idea and am halfway throught building my game. After 3 different games attempts I have finally settled on this one, I have a Timelapse aswell from the very start of the 48 hours, it contains all my stuff ups.. It will be interesting to watch how I progressed..
Below is a screen shot, no giving away anything tho as my game’s whole premise and goal is for discovery in a Tiny World.
Frustration
Wow,
Tonight really doesn’t seem to be working for me, I’ve done a bit of work on a idea and have found that I’ve spent so much time with very little progress. This is a combination of external noise, a cramped workspace and difficulty finding a idea worth doing.. To make matters worse another participant is doing the exact same idea I was going to do, and their progress is much much better..
Not sure If I’ll be continuing this one.
Tiny World
After already trying to draw a game that required a large amount of graphical detail to be able to work, I as always had to stop as I am simply not a artist.. Either way I’ve come up with another Idea that I am fairly happy with..
Space strategy game.. That is all
Got some idea..
I have a idea and have therefore decided what I will need to use in my pre-existant code base..
Here is the class file, its a awesome 2d camera class for C# XNA.

Theme…
Although I like the theme ‘Tiny World’ this time around, I have no idea what I will do.
This should be a interesting competition this time around, I’m rather excited to see what everyone else comes up with.
Hello again.
Hi everyone,
This will be my 2nd LD and like last time I will be using C# with the XNA Framework.
Last time I participated the game was somewhat finished but due to the fact I was awake for around 35 of the allowed 48 hours I burnt out in the end and gave up. I also found that the scope of my game was way to large and therefore I was unable to put in everything I would have liked, I also found that the code I was writing was filled with lots of hacks and was so unreadable/un-extensible by the end it would have been quite difficult to have a polished product.
Hopefully I will be able to think of a game this time that doesn’t require a large amount of graphics as I am seriously untalented in that area.
Tools I will be using
IDE: Visual Studio 2010
Graphics: Photoshop Cs5
Sounds: sfxr
Code Libraries: XNA, Silversprite
Timelapse: My own custom software, LolLapse-Timelapse
